The Steelers’ star is one of the most prolific pass-catchers in the NFL. He’s also one of the most entertaining players, happy to wear his emotions on his sleeves. Those two attributes intersect as bettors have handicapped the likelihood of officials flagging him for excessive touchdown celebrations this season.
An NFL rule change could help limit the penalties, although Brown’s inventive moves could still very well go over the boundary and cost his team once again. There might not be a more entertaining bet to watch throughout the season that this one.
The 2017 NFL regular season kicks off on Thursday, September 7 with the defending Super Bowl champion New England Patriots taking on the Kansas City Chiefs. Super Bowl LII will be played on Sunday, February 4, 2018 at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis.

Odds Analysis
This prop bet may be tough to figure out, and thus far there has not been much movement either way. The “over” has started as the favorite and has remained that way. This is one of the tougher wagers to handicap because there are so many different factors to consider that won’t be known until the games are played.
Why Brown Will Have More Than 1.5 Excessive Touchdown Celebrations In The 2017-18 Regular Season
One doesn’t need to spend too much time researching to realize how much Brown enjoys celebrating his scores. And subsequently, he had been no stranger to getting penalized for them. Brown was flagged three times for his touchdown dancing in the 2016 seasons, as the NFL often deemed his moves too sexualy suggestive.
Brown was penalized after a Week 1 score against the Washington Redskins and then again in Week 4 against the Kansas City Chiefs. One would think he would have toned it down after that, but Brown was penalized again on Thanksgiving against the Indianapolis Colts.
Based on that history, 1.5 penalties is not a high bar to clear, especially considering Brown’s propensity to get in the end zone. While some players might only make it two or three times all season, he is regularly in double digits.
If a game is a blowout, Brown may not mind trading a 15-yard penalty to get in another celebration.
Why Brown Will Have Fewer Than 1.5 Excessive Touchdown Celebrations In The 2017-18 Regular Season
Brown was told to tone down his celebrations near the end of last season and he followed that advice. While he may get caught up in the moment again in 2017-18, he will have it in the back of his mind to not draw a penalty.
The 1.5 number is important, as he can get one and still stay “under” the total. The biggest reason to choose this side of the bet is because the NFL has recently relaxed rules on calling penalties on celebrations.
The derisive moniker “No Fun League” has been thrown about, and the league office now wants to allow more individuality. Brown loves the sound of that, but it remains to be seen if he will toe the line too much.
Between the relaxed rules and Brown learning his lesson from last season, it seems quite likely that the “under” is the correct choice. It’s incredibly enticing as it has the odds that will pay out better for those who think Brown will draw one or zero excessive celebration penalties in 2017-18.
