The playoff race is as tight as could be in both the AFC and the NFC, and Week 13 is features a lot of divisional battles which will separate teams, perhaps once and for all.

GAME OF THE WEEK
Here come the Seattle Seahawks. They're above .500 for the first time this season after beating the Steelers last week, but they lost Jimmy Graham likely for the rest of the season with a leg injury, and their offense isn't going to be nearly as good without him.
What's worse is that they're going on the road and facing a Minnesota team which genuinely believes it can be one of the best teams in the NFC this year. Adrian Peterson has been arguably the best running back in the NFL, and he's going against a rush defense which has really come on strong in recent weeks.
The meaning of this game is clear. The Vikings control their own destiny in the NFC North, and if they don't win this division and lose this game, they could be in some trouble for the Wild Card slots as well. Seattle's chances of winning the NFC West are slim, but a loss in this one probably ends any hope of that. The Seahawks would have a Wild Card if the playoffs started this week, but they still have a heck of a schedule left and need as many wins as they can get, especially with so many teams in that 6-5 / 5-6 range in the NFC.
The Seahawks are getting all sorts of respect at a pick 'em here on the road in Minneapolis.
WEEK 13 NFL ODDS NOTES
-The biggest favorites of the weekend are, not surprisingly, the Patriots. New England opened up at -13 against Philadelphia in what will be the showcase game of the 4:00 p.m. ET hour clashes in Week 13. Philadelphia might be the worst team in the league this year, and it is certainly one of the most dysfunctional. Going against the Pats at Gillette Stadium just doesn't seem like a fair fight.
-There are a pair of huge road favorites in Week 13 as well. Carolina, an 11-0 team is on the verge of a 16th consecutive regular season win, is laying six on the road against a New Orleans team which effectively is in do-or-die time for its playoff hopes. The Cardinals, the NFC West leaders, have opened at -6 against the Rams, who have really fallen flat in recent games and have fallen out of the playoff picture.
-The highest total in Week 13 has been set at 49.5. It's strange to think that the Panthers are involved in a game with such a high total, but the Saints have been so bad defensively that it would almost defy logic to think that Carolina won't get into at least the high-20s, if not the 30s. That said, keep an eye on the total in the New England/Philadelphia game. That could end up being a higher total when the number comes out.
-Totals are starting to get a tad lower across the entire NFL as we get deeper into the winter. The lowest of the bunch this week is the Seattle/Minnesota game, a place where there definitely could be some winter weather. The number to beat is just 41, a figure which seems a little odd considering the fact that Russell Wilson just put up five touchdown passes in a game which featured 69 points against the Steelers.
