GAME OF THE WEEK

All of a sudden, the Broncos are in a heck of a lot of trouble in the AFC playoff picture. They've been stuck on 10 wins now for almost a full month, and if they lose on Monday Night Football, there's a really good chance they're going to be on the wrong side of the playoff picture going into Week 17. Kansas City will win the tiebreaker between these two teams if it wins out, so all of a sudden, winning this game against Cincinnati becomes paramount.

A.J. McCarron showed himself well in his first start last week, though that came against a significantly worse San Fran unit. This is the Bengals' second straight trip to the West Coast, something which could end up being a big problem when push comes to shove.

The Bengals will lock up a first round bye in the playoffs with a win in this game. Denver still controls its own destiny for a first round bye as well, but it will have to win its last two games to get the job done.

The Broncos have opened at -3.5, but clearly, there isn't a lot of confidence that they'll get the job done.

WEEK 16 NFL ODDS NOTES

-Tis the season for huge favorites! There are a pair of teams favored by at least 13 in Week 16, led by Seattle at -13.5 at home against St. Louis. The Seahawks covered as the biggest favorites of the week against Cleveland in Week 15, and they're largely the hottest team in the league at the moment.

-The biggest road favorites of the week are the Steelers at -9.5 against the Ravens. This rivalry game tends to bring out the best in both teams, but it's hard to suggest that Baltimore has been anything but severely overmatched by all of its foes of late.

-The highest total of the week is set at 51.5 in the Jaguars/Saints game, a duel which features two of the most underrated statistical quarterbacks this season in Drew Brees and Blake Bortles.

-The lowest total on the Week 16 docket is the 40.5 set in the game between the 49ers and the Lions. San Fran has hit 20 points in a game just once since October 18.
