Eagles vs. Redskins, Sunday 1:00 p.m. ET
Opening NFL Odds: Over/Under 47
Current NFL Odds: Over/Under 44
There are a ton of factors which always go into NFL betting action, including Mother Nature. In this case, Hurricane Joaquin has really hurt the prospects for over bettors. Tons of wind and rain is expected in this game. Players will tell you that it isn't so much the rain that is bothersome for offenses. The wind though, is a far different story. What makes matters worse in this game is that we are going to be dealing with a crosswind instead of just a straight "with the wind" and "against the wind" situation. There is a chance that this game doesn't end up getting played on Sunday if Joaquin delivers a direct hit to the D.C. area, so keep this in mind as this line continues to fluctuate.
Raiders vs. Bears, Sunday 1:00 p.m. ET
Opening NFL Odds: Oakland -2
Current NFL Odds: Oakland -3
This isn't a particularly huge line move, but it's a notable one for sure. Twenty-five games in a row have elapsed since the last time the Raiders were favored. The last time they were favored on the road was over 1,000 days ago. In fact, Oakland's first road win in two seasons came last week against Cleveland. That said, the Bears are a train wreck right now. Jay Cutler isn't playing, and that offense just got shut out in Seattle last week in what had to be a demoralizing game. The Bears might not be favored against Ohio State right now, let alone the Raiders.
Packers vs. 49ers, Sunday 4:25 p.m. ET
Opening NFL Odds: Green Bay -7
Current NFL Odds: Green Bay -8
It's really tough to get betting lines to move off of that crucial seven, but with this new extra point rule, that value of the touchdown is tough to consider an exact science. Maybe that's what makes it a little less surprising that the Packers have jumped up from -7 to -8. Or maybe it's the fact that Green Bay has been blowing out opponents and the Niners have been destroyed in each of the last two weeks. That said, we have to remember that some of Colin Kaepernick's best games have come against the Packers. San Fran has four straight games in this series and is 3-1 ATS in the proceedings.
Vikings vs. Broncos, Sunday 4:25 p.m. ET
Opening NFL Odds: Over/Under 45
Current NFL Odds: Over/Under 43
The more that bettors see Peyton Manning play, the more they realize that he just isn't the same quarterback he used to be. This Denver defense is no joke either, especially if these corners are healthy and both Von Miller and Demarcus Ware are getting off of the edge and after the passer. In this case, we have a Minnesota offense which has been pathetic on the road for the most part in Teddy Bridgewater's career. Adrian Peterson runs should definitely be in large supply, and that only further promotes the under in this game. Thus, it isn't surprising with all of that in mind that this total has come down quite a bit from the 45 at the open to 43 where it sits as of Thursday.
