The New York Giants’ potent offense has been muted in the preseason, but with Week 3 of the exhibition slate on the horizon, it may finally be unveiled. Quarterback Eli Manning and star wide receiver Odell Beckham, Jr. should see a decent amount of playing time against the New York Jets. The Giants are a rare road favorite and will aim to live up to that confidence in NFL betting.
This Week 3 preseason matchup will be held on Saturday, August 27th, 2016, at 7:30 p.m. ET at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

Odds Analysis
The Giants might technically be on the road, but the teams play in the same stadium so they won’t be at much if a disadvantage. The Giants have the more explosive offense and are a good bet to cover the spread even as the road favorite. The “over’ is an enticing wager as well.
Quarterback Rotation
Giants quarterback Eli Manning is the clear starter in New York and therefore hasn’t had a lot of work in the preseason. He sat out the opener and then was 4-of-9 for 44 yards in the second game against the Buffalo Bills. The Giants were shut out in that contest and only scored 10 points in their opener. However, the team still is explosive and should do better as the starters play more of the game in this one.
Ryan Nassib is the backup and had a very poor performance last time out. He was just 2-of-12 passing for 25 yards. Nassib might not get a bunch of playing time in this one but whenever he is in Nassib will aim to perform better. Third-stringer Logan Thomas was 2-of-4 for 17 yards and threw a pair of interceptions last time out and is erratic with his accuracy.
Jets starter Ryan Fitzpatrick has seen limited work since signing right before training camp and should get his test run in this one. Fitzpatrick was 4-of-9 for 35 yards last time out against the Redskins but that’s too concerning as the team knows what he can do. Fitzpatrick returns top targets Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker while running back Matt Forte has been added to the fold to add some juice to the running game.
Bryce Petty was impressive last time out, completing 16-of-26 passes for 242 yards and two touchdowns. He is aiming to find a spot on the team as the Jets have four accomplished quarterbacks. Geno Smith was 6-of-13 for 47 yards and an interception, while Jets rookie quarterback Christian Hackenberg has yet to see any playing time this preseason.
While Fitzpatrick should get the majority of the reps, it will be interesting to see how the other snaps are divvied up with three quarterbacks hoping to make the roster.
Coaching History
Second-year coach Todd Bowles has gone 4-2 in the preseason with the Jets so far. Bowles went 3-1 last year and is 1-1 so far in 2016.
Giants coach Ben McAdoo is 0-2 so far this season, his first as an NFL head coach. McAdoo did not play veteran quarterback Eli Manning at all in the team’s Week 1 preseason game against the Dolphins on August 12th but is expected to treat this Week 3 matchup the way many coaches around the league do, as a dress rehearsal for the regular season.
Free ATS Pick
The Giants have not looked very good in the preseason, especially offensively. However, it’s a small sample and the team has often played without some key players. With Manning and Beckham expected to be in the mix, the team could light up the scoreboard early, even against a solid Jets defense. The Jets have better backup quarterbacks, so they could make up some ground late but it might not be enough in NFL betting.
