Super Bowl 50 Props: Winning Margins

2016-Game-winning-margin-Lines

We've all played the square game at one time or another for the Super Bowl. A bunch of friends or co-workers get together and buy a square for a few bucks, and that square is a number between zero and nine. The big winner on the day is the one which has the square with the numbers of the last digits of the AFC team and the NFC team, you're going home a big winner.

Here in the betting world, we've got a similar game we play, though there can and will be a lot more than just one winner. Trying to pick the winning margin of any game is a heck of a lot harder than you think, but if you do happen to get it right on Sunday for either the Carolina Panthers or the Denver Broncos, you could cash in on a huge wager.

You can find a slew of Super Bowl prop odds at BookMaker.eu.

The biggest problem which comes with trying to find the winning margin is that the winning number range is just so darn narrow. Furthermore, not only do you have to get the margin correct, but you also have to have the winning team as well.

SUPER BOWL WINNING MARGIN

Carolina 1 to 6 points +320

Carolina 7 to 12 points +428

Carolina 13 to 18 points +631

Carolina 19 to 24 points +873

Carolina 25 to 30 points +1454

Carolina 31 to 36 points +2570

Carolina 37 points or more +2875

Denver 1 to 6 points +420

Denver 7 to 12 points +781

Denver 13 to 18 points +1404

Denver 19 to 24 points +3122

Denver 25 to 30 points +5514

Denver 31 to 36 points +10765

Denver 37 points or more +9050

Common logic suggests that this is going to end up being a fairly close game. In fact, if you think Denver is going to cover this game, it might be more beneficial to bet on both teams to win the game by 1-6 points, knowing if the winning margin is less than a full touchdown, you've got a winner on one side or the other.

Four of the last five Super Bowls have been decided by six points or fewer, so this logic would have paid off quite a bit in recent history.

But then of course, came the oddball year. Did anyone really have the underdog Seahawks winning by between 31 and 36 points against Denver in Super Bowl 48? It's a tough margin of victory to try to forecast on either side, but things like this clearly happen all the time.

Carolina has already had margins of victory this season of 17, 28, 19, 38, 28 and 34 points, none of which fall into the conventional numbers you'd think of for margins of victory, particularly against good teams.

Denver meanwhile, has had just one margin of victory and one margin of defeat by more than 14 points this season, so it's probably a safe bet to think that this one will fall within 13 points as well.

Then again, if you really believed that, you could just tease Denver with one side or the other of the total and have a lot more options on your hands as well. But if you want to swing for the fences for the big home run, here's your opportunity to do so.

BookMaker also offers first half margin of victory betting for the Super Bowl, though in this case, there's also the added caveat of the possibility of a tie after 30 minutes. The price on the tie is set at +961.
