New England has been installed modest 3 point favorites for the big game with the total set at a Super Bowl record 58.5 points. As potent as these offenses proved to be all season long, points are going to hit the board. When those points actually do hit it is what those attacking the total live bettors have to figure out.
Atlanta put a total of 80 points on the scoreboard in their pair of playoff games against the Seahawks and Packers. Lost in translation of all those points being scored was how good the defense played. It only allowed two touchdowns to Seattle. The first on the opening drive of the game, and the second late in the fourth quarter with the game already in hand. It then held what had been a powerful Packers offense scoreless through the first 30 minutes of play.
With Atlanta’s defense giving up an average of 25.4 points per game, it’s safe to say they played a bit over their head. However, should the Falcons defense continue its recent stellar play early on, it will no doubt force BookMaker.eu line makers to suppress the live betting total. That in turn would offer up some solid line value for those looking to trim a touchdown or more off this insanely high total.

Experience plays an enormous role in this game, and if I can actually get a decent amount of points with the Patriots when trailing, I’ll certainly go that route.
On the flipside, Atlanta’s offense is too good and diverse for New England to run away and hide in this game. This won’t be anywhere near the types of games Super Bowl XXXV or XXXVII were with Tampa Bay and Baltimore trouncing both Oakland and New York in games that closed with -3 and -4 point spreads. Should Atlanta fall into a double-digit hole, I’ll be looking to back the Falcons on the live betting line. Just for not as much as I would if it were the Patriots in that scenario instead.
