Two of the top Super Bowl LI contenders meet on Sunday night on NBC as the Seattle Seahawks visit the New England Patriots. The Seahawks come into this Week 10 matchup at 5-2-1 while the Patriots are 7-1. This is the first meeting between the teams since the Patriots won Super Bowl XLIX as they stopped the Seahawks at the goal line late in that 28-24 win. The Patriots are listed as 7.5 point home favorites for this Sunday night matchup.
Kickoff for this regular season Week 10 game is set for Sunday, November 13, 2016, at 8:30 p.m. ET at Gillette Stadium.

New England Patriots -7.5

Odds Analysis
The Patriots opened up as 7.5 point home favorites in this game. There may not be any movement on the side in this contest as the Seahawks are still a respected team while the Patriots are a huge public team. It is worth noting that when these teams met in the Super Bowl it was Seattle a one-point favorite.
The total is where we may see some line movement before Sunday night. The total opened at 48.5 and there is a good chance it goes higher before game time. The Seahawks simply are not a great defensive team this season as they are not stopping the run and their great secondary is showing weakness. The Saints and Bills went up and down the field on Seattle the last two weeks and neither of those offenses is as good as New England’s. The total when these teams met in the Super Bowl was 47.5.
Injury Report
Dion Lewis – The Patriots could activate Lewis for this game as he has practiced the last two weeks as he works himself into game shape.
Kam Chancellor – The Seattle defense has not looked the same without Chancellor on the field as he has missed the past four games due to a groin injury. He is listed as questionable for this contest.
Michael Bennett – The Seahawks will be without their top pass rusher as Bennett had knee surgery a couple of weeks ago. He should return later this month but he will not be available for this game.
Bradley Sowell – The Seattle offensive line is awful and it doesn’t help that Sowell is still out due to injury. He has missed the last three games due to an MCL sprain.
Thomas Rawls – The Seattle running game has been non-existent of late so the addition of Rawls to the lineup would help but he looks to be at least another week away from returning.
Matchup to Watch
The key matchup to watch in this contest is the New England passing attack going against the Seattle defense. The Seahawks have not played well defensively the past two weeks and they were fortunate to win against Buffalo on Monday night. The Seahawks gave up 289 yards passing to Buffalo’s Tyrod Taylor. The Seahawks gave up a combined 600 passing yards to Matt Ryan and Drew Brees and five touchdowns. Seattle’s secondary is thought of to be great but the reality is that Seattle is just 10th in the NFL in passing yards allowed.
The Patriots come into this game 9th in passing yards per game but those numbers are skewed as the Pats didn’t have Tom Brady for the first four games. Since he has return the offense has been nearly unstoppable scoring 33, 35, 27 and 41 points. The Patriots might be even more explosive if they decide to activate running back Dion Lewis who has been out due to injury.
Free ATS Pick
The Seahawks are fortunate to be 5-2-1 as their offense hasn’t been that good with Russell Wilson having just two good games this season while the defense is not making big plays as they have in the past. It is hard to see how the Seahawks stop Brady and the Patriots in this game. I will lay the points with New England and also play the game over the total.
