Week 13 NFL Odds - New York Jets at New York Giants Live Betting Preview

2015-Jets-at-Giants-Betting-Odds

There's not a whole heck of a lot separating the New York Giants from the New York Jets. Both teams have had opportunities to stick around in the playoff race in their respective conferences, and both have gotten the job done at times while suffering mind-numbing losses in others.

Furthermore, they're both essentially celebrating a home game on Sunday under the comfy settings of Snoopy Stadium.

ODDS ANALYSIS

Not only are these teams only geographically separated by a couple of locker rooms in the Meadowlands, but they're also virtually impossible to parse for betting purposes, too. The Giants should theoretically be given a bit of an edge for being the home team, but this is being treated as a neutral site game instead.

As a result, this game was lined at a pick 'em.

Don't look all that much into the line movement which has pushed the Jets up to -2.5. It's a sizeable move, but by and large, the difference between a pick 'em and laying 2.5 isn't all that much.

WHEN THE NEW YORK JETS HAVE THE BALL

The Giants can't stop the pass. The Jets can't throw the ball. This is a match made in heaven.

Of course, it's not that easy on either side. The G-Men haven't seen a ground game quite like the one the Jets are going to throw at them. Chris Ivory has been a bell cow for New York all year long, and though he struggled when Nick Mangold was out of the lineup, he looks more like himself now.

It's also not fair to say that Ryan Fitzpatrick can't throw the ball. The Jets did themselves a huge favor by bringing in Brandon Marshall from Chicago in the offseason, and he's proving to maybe be the best receiver in the AFC East this year.

Marshall and Eric Decker have really dominated down by the goal line this year. The Jets have scored touchdowns on nine straight goal-to-go situations, something that live bettors must be aware of. When Gang Green gets in close, between Ivory and Fitzpatrick's chemistry with Decker and Marshall, it's tough to see them not scoring.

WHEN THE NEW YORK GIANTS HAVE THE BALL

Sometimes, you just get the feeling this offense is all about one man and one man only. Odell Beckham Jr. literally tried to will the Giants back into last week's game with the Redskins. He wasn't quite able to get all the way there, but his ridiculous catch in the corner of the end zone with one hand was yet another reminder of just how talented he is.

Darrelle Revis was held out of last week's game for the Jets, and we still don't know if he's going to play. Regardless, he hasn't looked the best this year against the top receivers in the league (see: Hopkins, DeAndre). The rest of the secondary hasn't been as good of late as it was at the start of the year either.

The problem with live betting on the Giants is that you never know when Eli Manning is going to rear his ugly head. He's had awesome games this season against teams like the Saints, but he also has three games with at least two picks since Week 6. His nine interceptions in totality aren't bad, but clearly once things start to go wrong for Eli, they end up going horrendously wrong.
