The top two teams in the NFC East meet on Sunday night on NBC as the Philadelphia Eagles visit the Dallas Cowboys. This Week 8 matchup is a battle for first place as the Cowboys come in with a record of 5-1 while the Eagles are 4-2. You might think home field would be an advantage in this matchup but that has not been the case recently as the Eagles have won five of their last seven visits to AT&T Stadium including the last three. Dallas has not beaten Philadelphia at home since 2011.
Watch this regular season Week 8 matchup live on Sunday, October 30, 2016, at 8:30 p.m. ET at AT&T Stadium.

Philadelphia Eagles +4
Dallas Cowboys -4
Over/Under 43.5
Odds Analysis
The Cowboys opened up as 4.5-point favorites and they went up to 5-points on Monday morning. A major line move then occurred as the wiseguys took the Eagles and the line moved down to 4.
The Cowboys are a very public team so it is hard to see this number going down further despite the fact that the wiseguys are definitely taking a position on this game with the Eagles. If anything, the number might drift back up to 4.5 simply due to public money.
The total opened up at 43.5 on Sunday night and on Monday the total moved up a half point to 44. The public normally bets just one way with prime time games and that is to the over so it would not be a surprise to see this number go to 45.
Injury Report
Jason Peters – Peters is questionable with a bicep injury. Peters was hurt in the win over the Vikings and it is unclear whether he will be ready for this game against Dallas.
Lane Johnson – The top offensive lineman for the Eagles is out until at least Week 16 due to suspension.
Dez Bryant – The Cowboys expect to have Bryant back this week. He has missed the past three games although his absence hasn’t been felt as Dallas won all three games.
Orlando Scandrick – The Cowboys expect to have Scandrick in the lineup as he comes back from a hamstring injury.
Tony Romo – The Cowboys won’t have Tony Romo as he is listed as doubtful but Romo might not even get his starting job back when he does return as Dak Prescott has been great.
Key Stat
The Cowboys are the best rushing team in the league while the Eagles struggle to stop the run. The Cowboys have likely NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year Ezekiel Elliott who is on pace to break Eric Dickerson’s all-time NFL rookie rushing record.
The Eagles are allowing 4.5 yards per carry and they allowed 230 yards on the ground two weeks ago to Washington.
Looking at the trends, the Eagles are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 meetings in Dallas. The Eagles are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games overall. The Cowboys are 11-5 ATS in their last 16 games following a bye week. The Cowboys are 4-11-1 ATS in their last 16 home games.
If you are looking to play the total then the over could be the way to go as the Eagles have gone over in their last seven road games. They have also gone over in 9 of their last 10 against NFC teams. 7 of the last 10 games for Dallas against NFC East teams have gone over the total.
Free ATS Pick
The Eagles played well last week as they beat the Vikings and they have the trends in their favor but as long as the Cowboys have Prescott at quarterback I am not going against them. I will lay the points and take Dallas to win this one on Sunday night.
NFL Odds: Cowboys 24, Eagles 17
