The European Tour travels to South Africa for the 2016 Alfred Dunhill Championship and the question this week is can anyone beat Charl Schwartzel +350. He has won this event a record four times, including three of the past four times and has finished second another four times. He also is in good form with a T3 in his last start at the DP World Tour Championship. “It’s definitely one of my favorite courses that we play in the year, if not the favorite. For some reason Leopard Creek always seems to spark something special in my game,” he says of this week’s venue.
The Course: Leopard Creek Country Club will host the is event for the 13th time and the Gary Player design is one of a kind. Where else can you play golf and see monkeys, antelopes, hippos and alligators while you play. Yes it’s true. The course is set in the edge of the Kruger National Park, and incorporates much of the characteristics of the local area. Two years ago Luke Donald was getting ready to hit a shot and had to back away to let the monkeys pass by. I would put this course on my bucket list for sure.
Other players to keep your eye on include Branden Grace +500, George Coetzee +1500, Dylan Frittelli +2750 and Brandon Stone +2300. South Africans have won the last five editions and should win every year with only a handful of foreign players in the field. Grace seems to be one of the few players that has the game to hold up against Schwartzel this week. Grace won this event in 2014.

ODDS ANALYSIS
Not only has Charl Schwartzel +350 won this event four times, he’s also finished second four times. You can expect the former Masters champion to be in the mix on Sunday afternoon and possibly win for a record fifth time.
FLIER - Alvaro Quiros +15000 has played this event just one time, all the way back in 2006, and won the event. His current form is a concern, but his last competitive round was a 65 in the final round of the Portugal Masters and at +15000 he is worth a look.
The only non-South African to have a chance this week is Frenchman Gregory Bourdy +1750. He loves the course and has two top 5’s in his last two starts at Leopard Creek. He could be a factor this week.
