Henrik Stenson and Justin Rose headline the field for the BMW PGA Championship, which begins on Thursday in England. Each player is ranked in the Top 10 in the latest world golf rankings and they are co-favorites at odds of +1050. They are joined in the field by five other players ranked in the Top 25. The tournament will look a bit different this year, as the West Course at Wentworth was re-designed, and that means the scores will be much better.

Odds Analysis
Henrik Stenson +1050
This will be the 13th time that Stenson will be playing the West Course but I don’t know that experience on this course means a thing, as the course has been completely re-designed. Stenson is going to be getting a lot of accolades from the fans, as he is current Open champion. He might be overvalued at these odds.
Justin Rose +1050
Rose has done well in this event in the past, finishing second twice. He finished second to Sergio Garcia at the Masters but he didn’t play well at THE PLAYERS, as he shot an 80. Wentworth should be a great place for Rose to get back on track and I expect him to contend for the win this weekend.
Francesco Molinari +1850
It is hard to argue with the form of Molinari, as he led the Wells Fargo Championship after the second round before finishing tied for 24th and then he tied for 6th at THE PLAYERS.
Byeong Hun An +2250
An won this event two years ago and he tied for 33rd last year. He tied for 8th at the Wells Fargo and he tied for 5th last week in Dallas, so his form is solid.
Tyrrell Hatton +2550
If there is a local favorite who should do well this week it is Hatton who tied for 7th last year. He was tied for 2nd heading into the final round. I think there is a lot of value in Hatton at +2500.
Tommy Fleetwood +3450
Another local favorite will be Fleetwood who tied for 6th in this event two years ago. He struggled last year on the weekend in this event but the course changes should help him.
Fabrizio Zanotti +7450
My big longshot this week is Zanotti who has eight starts at Wentworth with five Top 25 finishes including a tie for 7th last year.
Course: The West Course at Wentworth is one of the most famous courses in the UK but it is going to look different this year. Every green was stripped and re-seeded and four greens were completely reshaped, the 8th, 11th, 14th and 16th. Five more greens were partially redone, the 3rd, 4th, 5th, 12th and 15th. Every bunker on the course was redesigned and 29 were completely taken out. Players have said the changes have made playing the West Course much more enjoyable. The course will now be a par 72 that measures 7,284 yards.

Notes: Chris Wood shot a 29 on the front nine in the final round of last year’s event to take a four-shot lead and he held on to win by a shot over Rikard Karlberg. Wood said that he thinks the changes to the course will mean much a lot more birdies and lower scores. Wood’s winning score last year was 9-under par. Only four players in this tournament’s history have won it in back-to-back years.
