The European Tour stays in the Middle East for the 19th edition of the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters.
This is the second leg of the “Desert Swing” and all eyes will be on defending champion Branden Grace +650 who is determined to climb his way into the top 10 in the world golf rankings. That won’t be an easy task but Grace has the game and attitude to get it done. After his fifth place finish a week ago, he currently ranks No. 11 in the world.
Joining Grace in the field include fellow South African Louis Oosthuizen +2000, 2014 champion Sergio Garcia +750 and young budding stars Matthew Fitzpatrick +2100 and Thomas Pieters +1550.
Players that played well last week are liable to play well in Qatar because the two courses are the work of the same designer, Peter Harradine. The fairways are generous and often an errant shot is unpunished. Doha Golf Club will host the event for the 19th consecutive year and we can expect to see some low numbers. The winning score could reach 20 under par.

ODDS ANALYSIS
One player to stay away from this week is Kiradech Aphibarnrat +5000. After suffering a neck injury two weeks ago at the Eurasia Cup, the big man from Thailand posted rounds of 78-78 to finish off last week. He is overweight, out of shape and dealing with a bad neck - it’s not the time to back Aphibarnrat.
After missing most of last year with an injury, George Coetzee +3050 is playing well again and looks to be healthy. South Africans have done well at Qatar and this should be the week we see Coetzee pick off a top ten. His last three starts at Doha Golf club, runner-up, T5 and T12.
Louis Oosthuizen +2000 is a world class player and a contender every week he tees it up, that is, when his back is healthy. The South African is battling a disc problem in his lower lumbar and truly is week to week, making him a risky play in all formats.
