Odds Analysis
Alex Noren +850
Noren is a deserving favorite, as he won this event in 2009 and in 2016 and he also finished in the top 10 in 2011. His last start in Europe was a tie for 6th at The Open. There is not a ton of value on Noren at odds of +850 but it is hard to argue that he should be favored.
Tommy Fleetwood +1150
Fleetwood is having a breakthrough season and he may be able to get the win this week. He likes playing at Crans, as in three of his first five trips to this tournament he finished 19th, 9th and 5th.
Bernd Wiesberger +2550
Wiesberger is from Austria so it is not a surprise that he likes to play this event in Switzerland. He tied for 6th in this event in 2012 and tied for 13th in 2014. I don’t know that he wins this week but he could be on the leaderboard.
Lee Westwood +2850
Westwood won this event in 1999 but he hasn’t played the tournament that often. He did finish fourth last year, as he shot a final-round 63. He has played well in Europe of late, with a tie for 10th in the Open de France and a tie for 9th last week in the Czech Masters.
Matthew Fitzpatrick +2850
If you look at past history for Fitzpatrick at Cans then he has a shot, as he finished 2nd in 2015 and he tied for 7th last year. If you look at current form then maybe you look elsewhere, as he has just one round under 70 in his last 19 rounds and he tied for 54th last week.
Richie Ramsay +2850
Ramsay loves playing at Crans, as he won the title in 2012 and he finished in the top 10 in 2014 and 2015. He could be a good play at these odds.
Jordan Smith +3550
The first of my two longshots is Smith who struggled last week after playing well in his previous two events. He finished tied for ninth and tied for 12th in two Challenge Tour events in Switzerland last year.
Tyrrell Hatton +4050
Hatton has been struggling of late but he might just find his game at Crans where he has two third place finishes in three starts.
Course: Crans is located at the mountain resort of Crans-Montana in Lens, Switzerland. The course has held a pro tournament every year since 1948. The course is one of the shortest on the European Tour at 6,848 yards and is a par 70, so unlike last week where distance was the key, greens in regulation and scrambling are more important.
