Alexander Levy is listed as the favorite to win this week’s NBO Oman Open, a brand new event on the European Tour. Levy is listed at odds of +1415, and that tells you there is not a ton of confidence in the favorite. He is, however, the only player listed with odds of less than +2000. We went a nice 3-0-1 with last week’s matchup picks at the World Super 6 Perth event. Let’s look at the odds and picks for this week’s NBO Oman Open.

NBO Oman Open Matchup Picks
Before we get to the picks there are a few things to consider. Many of these players have not played this course before, so getting adjusted to the greens will be a huge key. The fairways are generous so getting into position and then putting will be extremely important. The Al Mouj did host events on the Challenge Tour, so there will be some players who have seen it before. The greens are paspalum and that is a type of grass that is rarely seen on the European Tour. Two events that do have paspalum greens are the Shenzhen International and the Fiji International. We’ll consider players who have done well at those events in the past.
Jorge Campillo +100 vs. Pablo Larrazabal
One of my top picks to contend this week is Campillo and I thought this was the best of his matchups, as Larrazabal rarely contends. Campillo finished second at the Maybank Championship earlier this month and is now in the top 10 in the Race to Dubai.
Romain Wattel -110 vs. Jason Scrivener
French players did well on this course in the Challenge Tour, so I will take a shot with Wattel in this matchup at basically even money against Scrivener.
Nacho Elvira -110 vs. Ricardo Gouveia
There are three matchups this week that I am going with based on how players have done previously at the Shenzhen International. The first of those has me taking Elvira against Gouveia.
Brandon Stone -110 vs. Ashun Wu
The second of the matchups based on the Shenzhen International results has me going with Stone over Wu. Both Stone and Eliva have previous top ten finishes at Shenzhen.
Alexander Bjork -115 vs. Richie Ramsay
The last of these three matchups has me going with Bjork over Ramsay. Bjork has three previous top 20 finishes at Shenzhen, while Ramsay continues to disappoint wherever he plays.
