BookMaker has all the latest golf odds and weekly matchups available each and every week. The Omega Dubai Desert Classic is scheduled for February 2-5, 2017. The Golf Channel will televise it live.
Defending champion Danny Willett +4025, Swede Henrik Stenson +675, fan favorite Sergio Garcia + 1850 and the return of Tiger Woods +5000 headline this week’s Omega Dubai Desert Classic.
Willett returns to the scene of his win that gave him confidence to win the Masters two months later. Stenson is arguably the best ball-striker in the world and won here in 2007. The fans in Dubai love Garcia who is looking for his first win in the desert.
Woods returns to action after a 17 month layoff and looked rusty last week at the Farmers Insurance where he struggled and missed the cut. Anytime Tiger tees it up it adds excitement to the tournament, even if his better days are in the rear view mirror and his career may be over. Fade him while you can!
Other notables include Matthew Fitzpatrick +4025, last week’s winner Jeonghun Wang +2550, German Martin Kaymer +2550, Tyrrell Hatton +1825, Andy Sullivan +2550 and veterans Lee Westwood +3250, Ian Poulter and Graeme McDowell +5650.
Emirates Golf Club has hosted the event since its inception in 1989, with the exception of 1999-2000 when Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club served as host. It was the first grass course in the Middle East. The layout plays to a par 72 and even though it’s close to 7,300 yards, it doesn’t play that long in the desert type conditions. The course also hosts the Omega Dubai Ladies Masters.
Since 1989 the tournament has seen 22 different winners from 12 different nations. Every year it attracts a world class field. Last year the field comprised of 89 European Tour winners, eight major champions with combined 15 titles, six European Tour number ones, 20 Ryder Cup players and nine former ODDC champions and two of world's top six players.

ODDS ANALYSIS
VALUE: The best value on the board is Tyrrell Hatton at +1825. The Englishman was the 54-hole leader in Abu Dhabi before he slumped to a final round 75 to fall all the way to T13. Professionals on this level have short memories, so he has to be given serious consideration this week given his record in the United Arab Emirates. The kid plays well in Dubai; a second place in the DP World Tour Championship in November and T8 in this event last year when he closed 68-66 on the weekend. I love Hatton this week in the odds and golf matchups.
FADE: As previously mentioned above, it’s time to FADE Tiger Woods. His swing doesn’t even look like the swing we are accustomed to seeing from the former best player in the world. He walks gingerly up and down hills and you wonder if he will make it around for four competitive rounds. Do yourself a favor and fade Mr. Woods.
Will Tiger Woods make the cut? I say YES he does this week. The European Tour is not as talented or as deep as the PGA Tour. Tiger survives to the weekend this week in Dubai, but has to withdraw in round four due to his back tightening up.
