ATT Byron Nelson Matchup Odds and Picks

2017-Golf-ATT-Odds-To-Win-PGA-Bet-Online

Dustin Johnson is favored to win the AT&T Byron Nelson, which begins on Thursday in Dallas. Johnson is the top-ranked player in the world and he is listed at odds of +425 to win the tournament. It should come as no surprise that he is a solid favorite in his two matchups this week, as he is up against Jordan Spieth and Sergio Garcia. Our winning streak in the matchups ended last week at THE PLAYERS, so we’ll look to bounce back with a great week at the AT&T Byron Nelson.

AT&T Byron Nelson Matchup Picks

Before we get to the picks there are a few things to consider. TPC Four Season Resort at Las Colinas will host this event for the last time. It is a par 70 that measures 7,166 yards. The four par 3’s are really easy and so are the two par 5’s so scoring on those holes will be critical this weekend. The key stats to consider are Strokes Gained: Tee-to-Green, Strokes Gained: Off-the-Tee and Putting from Outside 10 Feet. Dustin Johnson and Brooks Koepka rank in the Top 10 in each of those two categories and they are my top picks this week.

D. Johnson -190 vs. J. Spieth

The best player in the world is Dustin Johnson and it really isn’t close. Forget about last week, as he never does well at TPC Sawgrass. And even at a course he doesn’t like he was still 12th. He had finished 2nd, 1st, 1st, 1st, and 3rd in his previous five events. He has four top 10 finishes in this event. He goes against Spieth who simply isn’t playing that great. Even though he is the local favorite he has never been in contention in this event.

B. Koepka -112 vs. Jason Day

As I said last week, Day is a go-against for me until he starts to play better. He was awful last week in the final round at THE PLAYERS. Koepka is one of my top choices to win this week and I think he beats Day in this matchup and we get him at a short price.

B. Koepka -190 vs. P. Reed

Koepka led the field last week at THE PLAYERS in putting inside 10 feet. He lost in a playoff in this tournament last year to Garcia. Reed has been playing better lately, but his driving still isn’t that good and I don’t see him contending this week.

T. Finau -105 vs. R. Henley

It was ugly for Finau at times last week at THE PLAYERS but that can be said about a lot of players. Finau has played well this season with four Top 10 finishes and he has two top 15 finishes in this event. He leads one of the key categories for this week, Strokes Gained: Off-the-Tee.
