World No. 2 Jordan Spieth +735 and No. 8 Dustin Johnson +825 headline a field that includes 10 of the top 30 in the current World Golf Rankings. Bryson DeChambeau +4850 gets a sponsor’s exemption and after a share of fourth at the RBC Heritage, he is on the brink of Special Temporary status on the PGA Tour - he likely needs another top ten finish to secure his playing privileges.
Also scheduled to play include Zach Johnson +2550, Matt Kuchar +1915, Sergio Garcia +2300, Brooks Koepka +3050 and South Africa's Louis Oosthuizen +3050 and Charl Schwartzel +2850.
TPC Four Seasons Resort at Las Colinas is the host venue, something it’s done since 2008 as the lone course. The layout measures 7,166 yards and plays to a par 70. Originally laid out by Jay Morrish in 1983, the course underwent a major overhaul in 2007 by D.A. Weibring and Steve Wolfard. The revamped layout features large, undulating greens, encouraging players to use slopes to work their shots closer to the pin – but with runoffs and closely mown areas just off the putting surface to penalize poor shots. The course is short and if the weather cooperates, we will see some awfully low scores, maybe even a 59!
Ten of the past 16 champions at the Byron Nelson have shot all four rounds in the 60’s, including last year’s winner Steven Bowditch. First time winners do well in Dallas as four of the past six winners have all made it their first win on the PGA Tour.
Also on the line this week are automatic bids to the U.S. Open. The top 60 in the world rankings after Sunday’s final putt will receive automatic berths into next month’s second major of the year. Currently, Fabian Gomez is on the bubble at No. 60 - play well Fabian!

ODDS ANALYSIS
Dustin Johnson +825 has won a tournament for seven consecutive years but has yet to win this year. He enjoys playing in Dallas with four top 10’s in his last five starts. This is the week to ride Johnson in every format as he adds to the streak with a win in eight years running.
Two weeks ago at the Wells Fargo we saw James Hahn win the event after missing eight straight cuts. I have a feeling a similar scenario is coming this week. Keegan Bradley +6050 is having an awful year. He recently fired his long time caddie and is coming to a place where he picked up his first win in 2011. Bradley surprises us all with a top performance this week, maybe, even a win.
One player to stay away from is Jimmy Walker +5050. Walker is mired in a slump and the end is nowhere in sight. He has lost all his confidence with his putting and will again disappoint this week in Dallas by missing another cut.
