Barbasol Championship Golf Odds - Preview and Predictions

Barbasol-Championship

All eyes will be in Scotland to see who will capture the Open Championship but the PGA Tour is in action in Auburn, Alabama for the second annual Barbasol Championship. There is a huge opportunity this week for a young unheralded player to seize the moment and grab a win or a veteran to resurrect their career with a win.

The highest ranked player in the field is Jason Bohn +4000 at No. 97 so this week is wide open and any one of the 156 participants could win.

Players to keep your eye on this week include Will Wilcox +5000, who finished second a year ago, veterans K.J. Choi +7100 and David Toms +3200 who both may have one more shining moment left in their careers, Ricky Barnes +5550 who contended last year and Lee McCoy who is making his third PGA Tour start after having an outstanding college career at Georgia.

RTJ Golf Trail-Grand National - Lake course will host the event for the second consecutive year. The track measures 7,302 yards and plays to a par 71. There are 11 courses on the property and the Lake course is the most challenging and course designer Robert Trent Jones Sr. lauded Grand National’s locale as the best for a golf complex that he’d ever seen. Twelve holes of the Lake course run along the shore of 600-acre Lake Saugahatchee and the views are spectacular.

ODDS ANALYSIS

K.J. Choi +7100 would much rather be playing on the other side of the ocean this week but must take advantage of the opportunity this week against a weaker field and make some noise. The veteran is running out of time to pick up one more win before he hangs it up. Choi at +7100 offers gamers the best VALUE on the board.

If you like playing the longshots, Zac Blair +12500 is the play. He needs a high finish to earn valuable FedEx Cup points to maintain his status for next year. The year is almost over and time for Blair to make a move with a high finish this week in Alabama.

One to FADE. Where have you gone Hunter Mahan +7750 - once a top player in the world, Mahan’s game has seen better days as he continues to struggle just to make a cut. Golf is a brutal game, just ask Mahan.
