Can Jon Rahm break the trend at the DEAN & DELUCA Invitational of first-time players not winning this event? Experience is critical at Colonial Country Club and no player making their debut in this tournament has won since Sergio Garcia in 2001. Oddsmakers believe that Rahm can break the trend as he is listed as the favorite at odds of +985. Sergio Garcia is the second choice at +1015, while defending champion Jordan Spieth is the third choice at +1215. We went 2-2 with our matchups last week, as Brooks Koepka let us down.

DEAN & DELUCA Invitational Matchup Picks
Before we get to the picks there are a few things to consider. Experience is everything in this event, as no player has won in his debut since Sergio Garcia in 2001. And almost all of the previous winners have had at least one Top 15 finish in this event before winning it. Until Spieth won last year, the previous 14 winners were all at least 30 years old with the average age nearly 38. Winning at Colonial is about experience, hitting quality second shots and putting.
Marc Leishman -157 vs. Billy Horschel
Leishman will be making his 7th appearance in this event. He has three top 30 finishes in his last three visits. Horschel shocked everyone by winning last week and a letdown this week is almost a given.
Adam Hadwin +105 vs. Emiliano Grillo
This will be the third appearance in this event for Hadwin who tied for 5th two years ago and tied for 22nd last year. He is fourth on the PGA Tour in scrambling and 17th in strokes gained: tee-to-green. Grillo has finished in the Top 30 only twice in his last ten events.
Pat Perez +100 vs. Tony Finau
Perez really fits the profile of a winner at Colonial as he is 41 years old and will be making his 12th appearance in this tournament. He has four Top 10 finishes in this event including a tie for 5th two years ago. He is playing really well this year with a win, a tie for 2nd, a tie for 3rd and a tie for 4th and he has nine finishes in the Top 20. We had Finau last week but we are going against him this time.
Sung Kang -170 vs. Ollie Schniederjans
The price is high, but Kang has been really good this season, as he is 29th in the FedExCup standings. He tied for 20th at the Byron Nelson and he has the type of game to do well at Colonial, as he is in the Top 50 in greens in regulation, strokes gained: putting and in adjusted scoring. Ollie has had a few good moments this season but he has finished 39th and 55th in this last two tournaments.
