Dustin Johnson is a slight favorite to win the Dell Technologies Championship, which begins on Friday at TPC Boston. Johnson won a thrilling playoff last week at The Northern Trust, as he defeated Jordan Spieth. Johnson is a slight favorite over Spieth this week, with Johnson listed at +688, while Spieth is +728. It is a major drop to the third choice in the betting, as Hideki Matsuyama is listed at +1621. It was a rare off week for us with the matchups at The Northern Trust, as we went 2-3. We’ll look to get back on the winning track at the Dell Technologies Championship.

Dell Technologies Championship Matchup Picks
Before we get to the picks there are a few things to consider. The TPC Boston will have a couple of different holes this year, as No. 12 and No. 13 are different. The 12th has a new tee, different fairway, additional bunkers and a new green. It can measure 510 yards, which is the longest par 4 on the course. The 13th has a new green with five bunkers. Four players who qualified for this event will not compete. They are Henrik Stenson, Brandt Snedeker, J.B. Holmes and Scott Piercy.
Dustin Johnson -171 vs. Jason Day
Johnson finally looked like the No. 1 player in the world last week, as he beat Spieth in a playoff. D.J. leads the PGA Tour in strokes gained: tee-to-green and he is fifth in par-5 scoring and in adjusted scoring. He has three top 10 finishes at TPC Boston. Day is playing better but he is not at the level of Johnson right now. I will lay the price and take D.J.
Hideki Matsuyama +115 vs. Rory McIlroy
I am shocked at the price in this matchup, as Rory is playing hurt. Matsuyama had a letdown last week but you could almost see it coming. I know Rory is a two-time champion in this event but I don’t think it matters, as he is playing hurt. I expect a big bounce back from Matsuyama this week and we get him at plus money in this matchup.
Rickie Fowler +108 vs. Rory McIlroy
Fowler didn’t play that great last year as he tied for 46th in this event but he won it in 2015. He has five top 10 finishes in his last seven starts. He is second in adjusted scoring. He goes against McIlroy who has admitted that he is playing hurt. I went against Rory last week and I will continue to do so until he is healthy.
Jhonattan Vegas +108 vs. Gary Woodland
Vegas continues to play well on a weekly basis, as he was third last week behind Johnson and Spieth. He was really good with his putting last week and comes in very confident, as he looks to secure a berth on the President’s Cup team. I will take Vegas at plus money in this matchup.
