The second round of the 2015 Open Championship is in the books with Dustin Johnson +185 clinging to a one stroke lead. Johnson finished out a 3-under 69 with a birdie at the 18th hole Saturday evening, giving him a two-round total of 10-under 134.
Jordan Spieth +1338 struggled with the putter and shot 72, leaving him five shots off the lead. The young Texan is attempting to take another step toward the Grand Slam after winning the first two majors of the year. Spieth has five 3-putts this week and guess what, he trails by five.
Chasing Johnson are a host of players that include Danny Willett +1015, Adam Scott +705, Zach Johnson +2251, Jason Day +1015, Louis Oosthuizen +1215, Hideki Matsuyama +3254 and Justin Rose +3051.
The biggest winner so far is the weather. The wind caused a 10 hour delay and now the tournament will finish on Monday.

It’s a shame that the 144th Open Championship has had so many delays and uncertainties because the leaderboard is stacked with world class players and the drama has somewhat lost its luster, but the next two days are certain to provide the fans with an epic finish. Look at the bright side; we get to watch golf on Monday.
Twenty players are within five strokes of the lead and in these conditions, five strokes is nothing. It will be interesting to see if Dustin Johnson can hang on after his collapse at the U.S. Open less than a month ago.
Hideki Matsuyama +3254 offers the best value on the board. He was paired the first two rounds with Dustin Johnson and Jordan Spieth and outplayed both of them in Round 2 by posting a 66. The young Japanese star is poised to make a run and win his first major championship.
Two unknown players to keep your eye on are Danny Willett +1015 and Marc Warren +2551. Both players play primarily on the European Tour so the average golf fan may not know much about them.
Ryder Cup Captain Darren Clarke called Willett the best young player in Europe. Those are strong words from a man that should know a thing or two about players in Europe. Warren currently sits 14th in the Race to Dubai standings and is ranked 56th in the world. If they can hang in there tomorrow it will be huge for both and give them a lot of confidence heading to the final round where in these conditions, anything can happen.
