The Franklin Templeton Shootout, which is hosted by World Golf Hall of Fame member Greg Norman, is proud to enter its 28th year. This one-of-a-kind competition features 24 of the world's top professional golfers playing on two-man teams in a mixed-format of modified alternate shot, better ball, and scramble.
Formerly known as the Shark Shootout, the teams will play a scramble in round one, a modified alternate-shot in round two, setting up a better-ball format for the final round.
Brandt Snedeker and Jason Dufner are back to defend and are joined by eleven other teams. This year the event features a player from the LPGA Tour as Lexi Thompson is teamed up with Bryson DeChambeau. Thompson becomes just the second woman to play in this competition.
Other teams include Olympic Bronze Medalist Matt Kuchar and Harris English, Smylie Kaufman and Justin Thomas, Kevin Chappell and Kevin Kisner and veterans Jerry Kelly and Steve Stricker. Davis Love III had to withdraw and was replaced by Mike Weir who will pair up with Gary Woodland.
The Course: Tiburon Golf Club
For the 16th consecutive year, the Franklin Templeton Shootout comes to Tiburón Golf Club at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort. The tournament is the longest running PGA TOUR-sanctioned post-season event.
The layout measures close to 7,300 yards and plays to a par 72.

Luke Donald and Russell Knox +900 offer gamers the best VALUE on the board. The two have similar games that should compliment each other and if their putters heat up, they could head home with the trophy.
It’s hard to go wrong by taking Harris English and Matt Kuchar +400. Kuchar is a model of consistency and he will feel comfortable playing with English who lives at Sea Island along side his friend, Kuch. Last year they came in second, this year, they do one better and win the whole enchilada.
Another team I like is the tandem of Kevin Chappell and Kevin Kisner +550. Team Kevin are opposites as far as their golf games go. Chappell is a long hitter that is streaky with his putter and Kisner relies on his accuracy both with his driver and iron play. This team is going to be tough this week. I’m all over Team Kevin!
