The grand finale is here. The top 30 players in the current FedEx Cup rankings are ready to compete for the 10 million dollar purse. The top five players control their own destiny. Dustin Johnson +400, Patrick Reed +1800, Adam Scott +850, Jason Day +900 and Englishman Paul Casey +1350 have the inside track to capturing the title. It’s simple, if either of them win, they win the FedEx Cup. The points were reset after the BMW Championship, allowing everyone a mathematical chance of winning the year long competition.
Defending champion Jordan Spieth +950 and Rory McIlroy +600 are seeded No. 6 and 7 and need help even if they win this week. They need the top five players to stumble and that is highly unlikely, but you never know in this wild game, anything can and will happen.
Each of the past six FedExCup champions have done so while winning the TOUR Championship, including last year’s winner Jordan Spieth.
After Sunday’s finish, U.S. Ryder Cup captain Davis Love III will complete his roster with his final wild-card selection. I am guessing he picks veteran, Jim Furyk to round out his team, the only problem is he is not playing this week.
Something to keep your eye on is the status of Jason Day. He had to withdraw midway through the final round of the BMW Championship due to a sore back. He is questionable to play.
Olympic Gold Medalist, Justin Rose did not qualify for this event. It goes to show you how hard golf really is.
The Course: The famous East Lake Golf Club will again host this year’s TOUR Championship. The layout measures 7,385 yards and will play to a par 70. The course is best known as the course where Bobby Jones learned the game. The TOUR Championship came to East Lake for the first time in 1998, becoming the annual host in 2004 and has never looked back.

ODDS ANALYSIS
Dustin Johnson +400 controls his own destiny this week and I think he will thrive under the pressure. Johnson seems at peace both on and off the golf course and it shows in his game. He rarely shows any emotion when he hits a bad shot and continues to impress in the short game. He leads the PGA Tour in shots between 50 and 125 yards and that is trouble for the rest of the field. He turned his weakness into one of his strengths. Johnson proves again why he is the best player in the world and wins the 2016 FedEx Cup.
Who has played better golf over the past month or so than Englishman Paul Casey +1350? Not many players have had the results that Casey has put on the board. He likely will not be matched up against Johnson or McIlroy in the matchups, even though he should be. Casey is playing great golf but somehow continues to fly under the radar. I am betting on Paul Casey in the weekly golf matchups and you should to!
If you like taking a chance on a long shot, Sean O’Hair +10050 is your man. Ryder Cup captain Davis Love III had O’Hair on his list for his recent strong play. Love III did not choose O’Hair, but even to have him on his list, shows how good O’Hair is playing.
