Henrik Stenson ( + 500 ) returns to his home country in search of his first Nordea Masters title. The Swede came close last year missing the play-off by two strokes before settling for fifth place. Stenson is the overwhelming betting favorite and by far the highest ranked player ( No 4 ) in the field.
Other notable players that are competing this week include Joost Luiten ( + 2050 ), Thongchai Jaidee ( + 1750 ), Alex Noren ( + 1950 ) and the ageless wonder Miguel Angel Jimenez ( + 3250 ).
For the second straight year PGA Sweden National ( Lakes course ) will host the tournament. The Lakes course opened in 2010 and it's design is similar to an American style course with over 70 bunkers, several water hazards and bentgrass greens. The track measures close to 7,400 yards and was once described as "a beautiful piece of Florida in the middle of Sweden".

Eddie Pepperell ( + 3050 ) is an unknown player to most of us, but after his play-off loss at last week's Irish Open he did open up a few eyes in the process. Young players like Pepperell usually play well in streaks until they feel comfortable on tour. This week the Englishman comes to a place that he has had success with a T6 last year and I look for him to have another top ten finish this week.
Victor Dubuisson ( + 4050 ) continues to struggle with his game. The Frenchman missed the cut again last week at the Irish Open which included a second round 84. Dubuisson's poor attitude and unhappy course demeanor give him no chance to play well. In stroke-play events, he now has just one finish ( T17 in Houston ) better than T60 since January. He has played well in Sweden, losing in a play-off last year and two other top 25 finishes in his other three starts at the Nordea Masters, however, given his recent form, Dubuisson will again fail to meet the lofty expectations that have him ranked at No. 32 in the current world golf rankings. Fade the Frenchman! Again!
Jonas Blixt ( + 4050 ) has missed nine of 13 cuts in the calendar year and that includes five of the last six. He returns to his home country where he missed the cut last year after finishing second in 2013. The open and generous fairways at PGA Sweden National will benefit his erratic ball-striking but his current form is poor and why I suggest fading the Swede as he misses yet another cut.
