Jordan Spieth is heavy betting favorite at the WGC - Bridgestone Invitational on CBS

2015-WGC-Bridgestone-Betting-lines

World No. 2 Jordan Spieth +525 and newly crowned Open Championship winner Zach Johnson +4034 headline the field at this week’s World Golf Championships - Bridgestone Invitational. Only 77 players qualified for this prestigious event that boasts 48 of the top 50 in the current world golf rankings. Rory McIlroy and Chris Kirk are the only two absences, both due to injuries. Oh, and Tiger Woods, who has won this event 8 times, did not qualify.

Dustin Johnson +1612, Jason Day +1224, Rickie Fowler +1619 and Adam Scott +1820 are contenders anytime they tee it up. Johnson needs to put four rounds together, Day just won the RBC Canadian Open, Fowler finished second last week at the Quicken Loans National and Scott is a ball-striking machine that should thrive at Firestone.

The statistic that savvy gamers will make note of is the All-Around ranking. All five of the previous winners at Firestone have all ranked No. 1 in this category. You have to do everything well this week to win.

Justin Rose +1255 loves big events. In an event where the cream tends to rise to the top, expect Rose to have a strong performance. The Englishman has done well in the past at Firestone with a second place back in 2007, a T5 in 2012 and a T4 last year. He also made the top 20 in 2010 ( T19 ) and 2013 ( T17 ). He is one of the most consistent players on the planet and doesn’t have any weaknesses which is what you need on a course that will test every facet of every player’s game.

Martin Kaymer +7894 has to be looking ahead to next week’s PGA Championship at Whistling Straits where he won his first major championship back in 2010. The German has never played particularly well at Firestone and with his focus on next week, he will disappoint backers. Fade Kaymer!

Adam Scott +1850 and Firestone Country Club are a perfect fit. He won this event in 2011 and is playing his best golf of 2015. Since Stevie Williams has been back on Scott’s bag, the Aussie has found the confidence and game he lost earlier in the year and is poised to pick up a win this week.

Danny Willett +2250 is arguably the hottest player on the European Tour after finishing T6 at the Open Championship and backing it up with a win in Switzerland. He finished T12 in the WGC-Cadillac Match Play back in March and third in the WGC-Cadillac Match Play in May so he appears to relish these world golf championship events where the best players are present.
