Robert Trent Jones Golf Club will host this year’s event and the venue is no stranger to hosting big events. The club opened in 1991 and became the early home of the Presidents Cup, hosting it four times between 1994 and 2005. The layout measures 7,385 yards and plays to a par 71. Sculpted along the shores of Virginia’s Lake Manassas, RTJ got its beginnings when the renowned architect discovered the land during an aerial site survey for another project and the rest is history.
Last year Justin Rose captured the tournament’s first playoff, surviving a late mistake to defeat Shawn Stefani on the first extra hole. It was Rose’s second victory at the National, joining Woods as the event’s only multiple winners.
