World Hall of Fame member and tournament host Greg Norman announced the 12 man teams for this year’s Franklin Templeton Shootout. This is the 27th year of the event and 15th consecutive year at Tiburon Golf Club in Naples, Florida.
The 24-player field features seven of the top 30 players in the world, two reigning major championship winners, eight players earning a total of 12 victories during the 2014-2015 season and seven past champions of the Franklin Templeton Shootout. There are also two past FedExCup champions, seven 2015 Presidents Cup participants and five players who will be competing in the Franklin Templeton Shootout for the first time. Collectively, the field has 116 career PGA TOUR victories. It’s a great Christmas bonus for all the players.
Host Greg Norman is excited to get the games started and said this, “With the teams lined up for this year’s competition, I think we are in for another compelling finish this December. The players have expressed their appreciation for the unique format and truly enjoy teaming up with their fellow professionals. I have no doubt the fans on the grounds and the television audience will once again be entertained.”
The event has an unusual format. Teams will play a scramble the first day, an alternate shot the second day and a better-ball the final day. We could see a team birdie every hole in the scramble.
TV Coverage: This year, Golf Channel will televise Thursday and Friday live from 1-4 p.m. ET and FOX will broadcast Saturday’s final round which will be live from 1-5 p.m. ET.

ODDS ANALYSIS
In this unique format, there are two teams that I really like this week. Zach Johnson and Patrick Rodgers are a team to keep your eye on. Johnson is rock solid and Rodgers has a lot of firepower and it will be interesting to see how they mold together.
The team with the best value on the board has to be Daniel Berger and Charley Hoffman. Berger hits it a mile and Hoffman is an underrated ball-striking machine. If they can make a few putts early and get their confidence up, watch out!
