Matt Kuchar +1300 and defending champion Charley Hoffman +3550 headline this week’s OHL Classic at Mayakoba. Russell Knox +2200 is fresh off his breakthrough win in China and he is the only man left standing that has played all five tournaments this year.
All eight editions of the OHL Classic have been won by American-born players and three of the previous eight events have been decided in playoffs, including John Huh’s marathon triumph over Allenby three years ago that went eight extra holes.
Two of the three tournaments played on U.S. soil this year have been won by young guns. This week the twentysomethings will get their chance as close to 30 players are entered that are under 30 years old, but in the past, it’s been the older, veteran players that have come up big in Mexico. Six of the eight champions of the OHL Classic have all been older than 30 years old.
TV Coverage: Thursday-Sunday, 1-4 p.m. ET (Golf Channel).

ODDS ANALYSIS
Patton Kizzire +2550 is off to a flying start in his PGA Tour career with two top 5’s and it’s only a matter of time before he breaks through to the winner’s circle. Kizzire isn’t a household name yet but the kid was No. 1 on the Web.com moneylist a year ago and seemingly plays well week after week. The former Auburn Tiger is one player to keep your eye on this week and the entire year.
Graeme McDowell +2950 is coming off the worst year of his career. He makes his first start on the 2015-16 PGA TOUR and with the Ryder Cup looming, this is a pivotal season for the Ulsterman. He tied for 63rd here in 2007 in his only action at El Camaleon. I would stay away from McDowell until further notice.
Jerry Kelly +8300 is approaching 50 years old and is still exempt on the PGA Tour. Not many players can say that. If there was ever a week to back Kelly, this is the week. He’s only missed the cut once in seven tries, while bagging a pair of top 10s. Veteran players have thrived on this kind of venue and Kelly may have one last glimpse of glory left in him.
