Odds Analysis

Harris English-Matt Kuchar +400

The team of English and Kuchar has won this event twice, in 2013 and in 2016. They also finished second in 2015. Their victory in 2013 was by seven shots, the largest margin of victory in the history of the tournament.

Kevin Chappell-Kevin Kisner +600

Chappell and Kisner both won on the PGA Tour in 2017. They are one of three returning teams this year and they finished fourth last year.

Brian Harman-Pat Perez +650

Both Harman and Perez won on the PGA Tour this past season. Both are playing as well as they ever have, but I am not so sure they should be listed as one of the top choices to win this event.

Charley Hoffman-Zach Johnson +700

If you want to take a team to upset English and Kuchar it could be this one. Hoffman has played really well this season and has four career PGA Tour wins, while Johnson has 12 career PGA Tour victories.

Daniel Berger-Gary Woodland +900

These two have played this event before, but this will be their first time as a team. Both hit the ball a long way but Berger didn’t play well last week and Woodland hasn’t set the world on fire lately. I think they are overvalued at these odds.

Brandt Snedeker-Bubba Watson +900

It is hard to get too excited about taking this team, as Snedeker has been battling injuries, while Watson hasn’t played well in more than a year.

Russell Henley-Kyle Stanley +900

Both players won for the first time on the PGA Tour this past season, as Henley won the Shell Houston Open, while Stanley won the Quicken Loans. If Stanley gets hot with the putter this team could win this event at a decent price.

Keegan Bradley-Brendan Steele +900

These two played together in 2011 and won the event and also played together in 2012 and finished seventh. They have not played together since. Both players had good 2017 seasons and it would not be a surprise to see them contend this weekend.

Shane Lowry-Graeme McDowell +1000

International teams simply don’t do well in this event, as no International team has won it since 1998. Neither player had a great 2017, so it is hard to like the chances of this team.

Jason Dufner-Billy Horschel +1200

Dufner and Horschel have both played well in this event in the past, as Dufner teamed with Snedeker to win it in 2015, while Horschel has never finished worse than fifth.

Sean O’Hair-Steve Stricker +1800

O’Hair won this event with Kenny Perry in 2012 and Stricker won with Jerry Kelly in 2009. Both players are past their prime and it is hard to see them contending this weekend.

Tony Finau-Lexi Thompson +3500

Thompson played this event last year and was teamed with Bryson DeChambeau. This time around she gets Finau as her partner. Finau is 28 years old, while Thompson is 22 years old. It would be a total shock if this team challenges for the win.

Course: The Tiburon Golf Club was designed by Greg Norman and the Black and Gold Courses feature sod-wall and waste bunkers. The Golf Club has 36 holes, divided into two 18-hole courses. The Gold course hosts this event and it is a par 72 that measures 7,382 yards. It has a course rating of 76 and a slope rating of 137.
