The new season is underway on the PGA Tour as it stays on the West Coast in Las Vegas for the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open.
Rickie Fowler +1215 makes a rare start this early in the season and is the betting favorite. The flamboyant Fowler is all the way up to No. 5 in the world and gives the tournament a real boost. He is joined by former champion Kevin Na and four others ranked in the top 35.
Defending champion Ben Martin +10050, Jimmy Walker +3850, Ryan Moore +2250, Brooks Koepka +2050 and Brandt Snedeker +2650 are also scheduled to compete.
TPC Summerlin will once again host the tournament. The layout measures 7,255 yards and plays to a par 71. The course opened in 1991 as a collaboration of Bobby Weed and two-time major champion Fuzzy Zoeller. Players will need to make birdies and take it low if they want to be in the hunt on Sunday. It will take at least 20 under par to win.
