The 2015 PGA Tour season is winding down with only two playoff events remaining.
The BMW Championship is a 70 player field without a cut and it leads up to the TOUR Championship when only 30 are left standing.
The new “Big Four” are all in the field this week. Rory Mcilroy + 888, Jordan Spieth +1212, Jason Day +785 and Rickie Fowler +1416 are all having monster seasons and all have a very good shot at winning the FedEx Cup.
Rookies: Justin Thomas + 6538, Tony Finau + 10164, Daniel Berger + 12470 and Zac Blair + 17368 remain alive in the FedExCup postseason, the most since four made the 2012 BMW. However, each needs to climb the standings to reach the finale. Thomas has the best chance ranked No. 35 but he will need a top ten to move on. The race to Rookie of the Year is still up for grabs and it may depend on who makes the last statement to see who wins.
All 12 members of the U.S. Presidents Cup team are entered, but only six from the International squad.
Conway Farms Golf Club will host the 2015 BMW Championship. The track measures 7,198 yards and will play to a par 71. Carved out of farmland in Chicago’s North Shore outskirts, the Tom Fazio design takes its second turn at hosting the tournament.
Conway Farms opened in 1991 and first made gained prominence on the amateur stage, starting with the 1997 NCAA Division I championship and 1998 U.S. Junior Amateur. Later came the 2009 Western Amateur and 2010 U.S. Mid-Amateur before the PGA TOUR arrived two years ago, an event highlighted by Jim Furyk’s 59 in the second round. Conway Farms membership includes former world No.1 Luke Donald, who played a key role in bringing the club and TOUR together, unfortunately, Donald did not qualify for the event.

Brooks Koepka + 4006 is free at last! The run to make the Presidents Cup team is over. Koepka was trying to secure a spot on the team, unfortunately, he came up short. Now all the pressure is off and he can free-wheel it to another strong finish. The pressure was too much for the young man and after two disappointing starts, Koepka is back this week and the results will show. I am on board with Koepka this week.
J.B. Holmes + 6539 doesn’t have a top 20 finish since May. That is all you need to know. Stay away from Holmes this week.
Danny Lee + 5953 was on fire earlier this summer and it paid off with his selection to the Presidents Cup team, but lately his best finish was last week, a T33. Lee is on a downward spiral, feeling good about making the team and playing very average golf. I am fading Lee this week.
