Welcome to the start of the 2015-16 season. I know it seems like last year just ended, it did, so catch your breathe, we are in for a long and exciting season on the PGA Tour.

The Frys.com Open is the first tournament of the new season and it returns to Silverado Resort and Spa - North course in Napa, California for the second consecutive year. The par-72 layout measures 7,203 yards. The key this week will be on the putting surfaces. The tricky poa annua greens are common in California and normally require some level of previous experience and feel.

Rory McIlroy +481 is the betting favorite every time he tees it up and this week is no different. The tournament gets a boost with the addition of Justin Rose +879 who is making his first visit to the Napa Valley.

Other notables scheduled to play include Brooks Koepka +1582, Japan’s Hideki Matsuyama +1513, ROY winner Daniel Berger +4242 and South African, major champion Charl Schwartzel +3989.

The field boasts 34 graduates from the Web.com Tour, including Finals money leader Chez Reavie.

The Frys.com Open golf odds, props and golf matchups are up and ready to play at BookMaker Sportsbook. BookMaker was the first sportsbook to have the live odds and golf matchups available to wager on.

TV Coverage: Thursday-Sunday, 5-8 p.m. ET - Golf Channel.

I think Brooks Koepka +1582 is disappointed he didn’t make the Presidents Cup team and will use that as motivation to grab a couple of wins this year and solidify himself as a top 10 player in the world. Koepka finished T8 here a year ago and T13 the year before at a different venue, so maybe there is something about this time of year or the name Frys. He is also fresh off a T2 at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship in his last start. Brooks to the bank!

Brendan Steele +4249 goes about his business and no one really notices how much money he is making or how good of player he is. He played 24 events last year, made the cut 20 times and made close to $2 million. He grew up in California and is accustomed to putting on the tricky poa annua greens. He grinded out a T21 last year at Silverado and is looking good to do even better this year.

Emiliano Grillo +3845 has to be the favorite for this year’s Rookie of the Year. He has plenty of experience in Europe and now is looking to make his mark on the PGA Tour. He won the Web.com Championship to end the year and secure his playing privileges and is running with a full tank of gas on a free roll. I love Grillo this week.

Daniel Berger +4242 is a heck of a player and won last year’s rookie of the year, but all of his damage was done on the East Coast and not in California. He missed the cut here a year ago and will likely be heading out of Napa early again this year. Fade Berger!
