It is not a strong field this week for the Sanderson Farms Championship, as Jason Kokrak is listed as the favorite at odds of +1615, while Chesson Hadley is the second choice at odds of +2046. Many of the players won’t be household names, as 46 players from the Web.com Tour are in the field. We are coming off a tough week at the CJ Cup in Korea, so we’ll look to bounce back with this week’s picks. Let’s look at the matchups and picks for this week’s Sanderson Farms Championship.

Sanderson Farms Championship Matchup Picks
Before we get to the picks there are a few things to consider. The highest ranked player in the field is William McGirt at No. 75 in the world and very few marquee names are playing this week, so the matchups will include some lesser known players. This tournament takes place at the Jackson Country Club which is a par 72 that is pretty long at 7.421 yards. Cody Gribble shot 20-under par to win last year’s event. Putting on these Bermuda greens will be critical to success, so we’ll look at putting as the key statistic this week.
Chesson Hadley -147 vs. Chris Kirk
Hadley played really well in the Web.com Tour Finals and then backed it up by tying for third in the Safeway Open. Kirk has played well in this event in the past but he has to deal with jet lag after playing in Korea last week. I will lay the price and take Hadley in this matchup.
Kevin Streelman -156 vs. William McGirt
Streelman has not missed a cut since May and he played well at the Safeway Open, finishing in a tie for 13th. McGirt is not getting much respect from the oddsmakers and perhaps that is because he hasn’t played since the FedEx Cup Playoffs. I will lay the price and take Streelman in this matchup.
Ben Martin -142 vs. William McGirt
I like Martin in this matchup, as he is the better putter and McGirt simply hasn’t played in a while. Martin tied for 18th last year in this event and he tied for 17th at the Safeway Open and ranked 11th in strokes gained: putting. I will lay the small price and take Martin in this matchup.
Austin Cook -146 vs. Jonathan Byrd
Cook is one of the young guns coming over from the Web.com Tour and I think he can contend for the win. Byrd won the Web.com Tour Championship but I think he has a letdown coming off that huge win. I will lay the number and take Cook in this matchup.
Bronson Burgoon -168 vs. Jonathan Byrd
My go against golfer this week is Byrd as I see him having a big letdown this week. It also helps our cause that Burgoon had top five finishes in his last two events in the Web Finals and he tied for 17th at the Safeway Open. I will lay the price and take Burgoon in this matchup.
