If you are looking for value, then this could be the week for you, as just four of the top 30 players the world are in the field for The Greenbrier Classic, which begins on Thursday, July 6 in West Virginia at the Old White TPC. Patrick Reed is the lukewarm favorite to win this event at odds of +1250, with Bill Haas the second choice at +1450 and Kevin Kisner the third choice at odds of +1650. It is so wide open that Phil Mickelson, who has not won a tournament in almost four years, is the fourth choice at +2050.

Odds Analysis
Patrick Reed +1250
Reed is the highest ranked player in the field at 21st in the world. He has shown signs he is getting closer to winning but it is still hard to take a player as the favorite who has not won in almost a year.
Bill Haas +1450
Bill Haas missed the cut in this event in 2015 but the previous four years he had a T23, T9, T33, and T2. His numbers are very similar to Reed in that he is playing better but he hasn’t won in more than a year.
Kevin Kisner +1650
Kisner is ranked just behind Reed in the World Rankings and at least he has a win this year. You can make a case he should be the favorite this week and not Reed.
Phil Mickelson +2050
This tournament will mark the first for Mickelson without caddie Jim “Bones” Mackay, as the two ended a 25-year partnership. Phil’s brother Tim will be his caddy this week. It is hard to bet on a player who hasn’t won in almost four years.
David Lingmerth +2250
I like the chances for Lingmerth this week if he can put last week behind him. He is playing at a very high level right now and his last three finishes on this course were T6 in 2015, T16 in 2014, and T9 in 2013.
Tony Finau +2550
One of my longshots this week is Finau who has the distance to thrive on this course that has wide fairways.
James Hahn +5050
Another of my longshots is Hahn who is excellent in Shots Gained: Tee-to-Green. He has been one of the top 4 scorers on the PGA Tour this season and I think he can contend this week.
Harris English +5550
English has been playing well lately and his putter is heating up. The field this week is not that strong and English could be in the mix for the win at a big price.
Course: The Old White TPC is a par 70 that measures 7,287 yards. The course was devastated by flooding last year and everything was redone, although the layout remains the same.
TV Coverage: CBS and Golf Channel
Notes: This event was not held last year because of extensive flooding. The 2015 event was won by Danny Lee who won a four-man playoff for his first PGA Tour win. Lee defeated Kevin Kisner, David Hearn and Robert Streb in the playoff.
No 54-hole leader has won this event and three of the six winners have come from at least four shots back.
