World No. 1 Dustin Johnson leads a strong field for the Memorial Tournament, which begins on Thursday at Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin, Ohio. Six of the world’s top ten are expected to play and it would have been seven out of ten if not for a late withdrawal by Rory McIlroy. Johnson is listed as the favorite at odds of +650, while Jon Rahm and Jordan Spieth are the co-second choices at odds of +1250.

Odds Analysis
Dustin Johnson +650
It is hard to argue with Johnson winning this event, as he leads the PGA Tour in driving distance, greens in regulation and total strokes gained. He has finished in the Top 15 in his last seven events. He has never won at Muirfield Village in his career but he has never been playing as well as he is this year.
Jon Rahm +1250
Rahm nearly won last week but couldn’t quite hit enough good irons down the stretch to beat Kevin Kisner. Rahm should enjoy Muirfield where distance is rewarded and there is no reason to think he can’t contend. He is fifth on the PGA Tour in birdie average and he is 10th in scoring average.
Jordan Spieth +1250
Spieth finally played well last week at Colonial but he always seems to play well there. I am still not sold that he has solved all of his problems and it seems unlikely he will get them worked out at Muirfield.
Jason Day +1450
Day finally seemed to turn the corner in his last event, as he finished second in the Byron Nelson. I think the odds are a little bit low on Day, as this is a very strong field and Day needs to prove he is back to being a contender to win each week.
Hideki Matsuyama +1650
Masuyama has won this event in the past and he is having a great season with two wins this season. He did miss the cut in this event last year but his other two finishes were a win and a fifth.
Adam Scott +2550
Scott hasn’t had a ton of starts this season but he has played well. He also likes playing at Muirfield Village, as he finished fourth in his last trip. He is 15th on the PGA Tour in total strokes gained and 13th in scoring average.
Matt Kuchar +3550
Kuchar has not won a PGA Tour event in more than three years but he has played well this season with seven top-25 finishes. Kuchar has eight top 15 finishes in this tournament including a tie for second in 2011 and a tie for fourth last year. He tied for 9th two weeks ago and he tied for 12th last week, so he is playing well.
Tony Finau +5550
Muirfield Village has been really good for Finau, as he tied for 8th two years ago and he tied for 11th last year. He ranks fourth on the PGA Tour in strokes gained: off the tee, and he is 7th in driving distance. Finau could be a live longshot this week.
Course: Muirfield Village Golf Club is a par 72 that measures 7,392 yards. It opened in 1974 and was designed by Jack Nicklaus. The course is almost always listed among the Top 20 courses in the United States. It has hosted the Ryder Cup, Solheim Cup and Presidents Cup.
TV Coverage: CBS and Golf Channel
Notes: Last year it was William McGirt going without a bogey on his last 22 holes to win. McGirt beat Jon Curran in a playoff. The win by McGirt was the first of his career in his 165th PGA event. Johnson missed out on the playoff last year by a single shot. Six of the last 13 winners of the Memorial have been International players. The last two winners of this event, McGirt last year, and David Lingmerth two years ago, were big longshots.
