What we’re seeing from Tiger Woods these days is hard to fathom and hard to imagine he’ll ever come close to being the golfer the history books will remember.
I hear commentators say that it is hard to watch, well, you know what, don’t watch it if it bothers you, but for the Tiger-bashers, like myself, I enjoy watching him struggle, love when he skulls pitch shots and love listening to his interviews where he says he is staying with the plan, Tiger, the plan isn’t working.
Woods is currently the No. 266 ranked player in the world. Mardan Mamat, Thaworn Wiratchant and Haydn Porteous are all ranked ahead of him and I have never even heard of them, have you? They sound more like cricket players then they do golfers. Jang Dong-Kyu and Daisuke Kataoka, two more players ranked ahead of Woods. Are they ping-pong players? The plan isn’t working!
After shooting 85 in the third round of the Memorial Woods said, “Just continue practicing, continue working on it, stay the course and hopefully it will be a little bit better.” I guess all the hard work paid off for Woods because he did improve at the PGA Championship by shooting an 80, knocking off five strokes from his 85. The plan is not working!
The swing changes he keeps waiting on to give him some consistency are slow arriving and non-existent. Right now he looks lost, throwing clubs, shanking shots, loose drives, topped shots and missed putts. Wait is this my buddy, Scott i am talking about, nope it’s Tiger Woods, now the No. 266 ranked player in the world.
Woods is too stubborn to go back to Butch Harman, too proud to go back to Hank Haney and too fragile in the brain to ever come back and be the player he once was. The plan is simply not working.
