With only three events left until the FedEx Cup Playoffs, there is a lot on the line at this week’s Travelers Championship. Ryder Cup berths are up for grabs, playing privileges for next year are on the brink and jockeying for a spot in the playoffs make the Travelers Championship one of the more intriguing tournaments of the year.

Defending champion Bubba Watson +1285 leads a list that includes 12 of the top 30 in the current Official World Golf Rankings. Branden Grace +1500, Louis Oosthuizen +5000, Patrick Reed +2300 and Zach Johnson +2600 give the tournament some added punch at the top of the lineup.

Young gun Jon Rahm +2600, who already has earned special temporary playing privileges for the remainder of the year, is in the field. He’s joined by Bryson DeChambeau +12500, Lee McCoy and Robbie Shelton, all are freshly out of college and ready to give the PGA Tour a shot.

Other notable players to keep your eye on include Brooks Koepka +1500, Tony Finau +7000, Daniel Berger +4500 and Justin Thomas +5500.

Six of the past ten winners at the Travelers Championship have been first time winners.

Three of the four players from next week’s USA Olympic team are scheduled to play; Bubba Watson, Patrick Reed and Matt Kuchar. All three players need good finishes to make the Ryder Cup team.

ODDS ANALYSIS

Brooks Koepka +1500 is back from his ankle injury that sidelined him for almost a month. Many people don’t realize that Koepka is the No. 17 ranked player in the world. He also is No. 19 in the FedEx Cup race and fifth in the Ryder Cup standings. He is a rising star on the PGA Tour and has the talent to contend on a weekly basis.

Louis Oosthuizen +5000 is one of the better ball-strikers on the PGA Tour and is due to have a good week and position himself for the upcoming playoffs. The South African currently sits No. 57 in the FedEx Cup race and with a good finish can inch closer to the top 30. Oosthuizen played solid last week at the PGA Championship with a T22. The price is too high, but great for gamers. He offers players the best value on the board.

Another player that offers gamers great value is Daniel Summerhays +5500. He’s coming off a solo third at the PGA Championship where he was near the top in GIR. Summerhays doesn’t have much history at the Travelers but his confidence is sky high and could surprise this week.
