Defending champion Jimmy Walker +1650 and last week’s winner Branden Grace +1700 headline a betting field that includes nine out of the top 30 in the current world golf rankings. Grace is the highest ranked player at No. 11. Also scheduled to play include Patrick Reed +1850, Zach Johnson +1865, Matt Kuchar +2000 and fan favorite Phil Mickelson +2315.
TPC San Antonio - Oaks will host the event. The layout measures 7,435 yards and plays to a par 72. The Oaks opened in 2010 and actually presents a tougher challenge than the neighboring Canyons course built by Pete Dye. Designed by Greg Norman, with help from Sergio Garcia, the Oaks features narrow fairways, bunkers as deep as 12 feet and native vegetation where unplayable lies loom. I guess Sergio took the money and ran because he isn’t in the field this year and has only played one other time.
San Antonio has been hit hard with rain over the past few weeks so the course will play long, giving the longer hitters a small advantage, although, no matter how far you hit it, you still have to make putts in order to win. Drive for show and putt for dough!

ODDS ANALYSIS
I love the long-shots this week. Here are two to keep your eyes on.
Lucas Glover +12050 is arguably the best ball-striker on the PGA Tour. He ranks No. 1 in greens in regulation and near the top in total driving, but his putting is always a concern. At +12050, Glover is worth taking a flyer on.
Patrick Rodgers +10000 has yet to fulfill his potential. He has all the shots and the game to get the job done but continues to come up short and disappoint his followers. That all changes this week! Rodgers gets off to a solid start, gains needed confidence in the process and churns out a top 10 this week, if not his first win on the PGA Tour.
Two to FADE! Matt Jones continues to struggle and Keegan Bradley isn’t doing much better. Both players can shoot 75 or higher on any given day and that’s not good on the PGA Tour. If either or both players are in a golf betting matchup, bet against them!
