The PGA Tour continues its West Coast Swing and heads to Scottsdale, Arizona for the 2017 Waste Management Phoenix Open. The event is one of the oldest on the Tour, dating back to 1932 and always attracts a world class field.

Justin Thomas +950 will try and make it three wins in a row after winning both tournaments in Hawaii. Defending champion Hideki Matsuyama +900 will be joined by 11 of the top 25 in the world rankings. Mr. Arizona, Phil Mickelson +2250 will be making his 28th appearance, having missed only one year since 1991. Jordan Spieth +850 makes his first visit to Phoenix and will get his first taste of the Coliseum atmosphere on the raucous 16th hole.

Others to keep your eye on this week are 2015 champion Brooks Koepka +2325, Ryder Cup hero Patrick Reed +2550, Rickie Fowler +2500, Zach Johnson +3500, Matt Kuchar +1999, last week’s winner Jon Rahm +1250, Bubba Watson +2500 and young guns Patrick Rodgers +4025 and Ollie Schniederjans +8500.

The Course: TPC Scottsdale, Stadium is famous for it’s three exciting finishing holes, specifically hole No. 16 which is surrounded by 20,000 screaming fans and it’s a shot like no other on the PGA Tour. All the players will be nervous and if they hit a good one, the fans applaud, but if they hit a bad one, the fans let them no and often times boo the players. It’s a one of a kind type hole and nowhere on the Tour will you find a scene like this.

ODDS ANALYSIS

JON RAHM +1650 - Don’t be surprised if the young Spaniard backs up last week’s win with another one this week in Scottsdale. Rahm went to college at nearby Arizona State and is familiar with the TPC Scottsdale layout. The 22-year old is the real deal - hits it a mile and is a great putter. More wins are going to come.

PHIL MICKELSON +2250 made 20 birdies last week in San Diego so the rust is off the clubs and his health appears to be back on track. Lefty loves playing here, where he went to college and where he’s won three times. Put Mickelson in your fantasy lineups and bet him in the golf matchups.

FADE FOWLER +2500 - Rickie is struggling with his game right now. One week it’s his ball-striking and the next it’s his putting. He will again disappoint!

BRENDAN STEELE +3000 continues his run of solid play - T6, T6, T20 in last three starts and a win at Safeway in October. In six starts this year he’s made every cut and his worst finish is a T31. Consistent and confident, Steele is a great pick this week in Arizona.
