The last chance for players to qualify for the FedExCup Playoffs is the Wyndham Championship, which begins on Thursday in Greensboro, North Carolina. Henrik Stenson is listed as the favorite at odds of +1550, while Kevin Kisner is the second choice at odds of +1850. Odds Analysis
Henrik Stenson +1550
Stenson is the only player in the Top 10 in the latest world rankings in the field but it is still hard to get excited about taking a player who has not won since last year’s Open Championship. He tied for 13th last week at the PGA. He has played this event just once since 2008 and missed the cut.
Kevin Kisner +1850
The only concern about taking Kisner is a letdown after last week’s PGA. This is also the third straight week of action for Kisner. He tied for 10th in this event last year.
Bill Haas +2550
I think you can make a good case for taking Haas this week. He loves this event and has had a lot of success, tying for seventh in 2012, finishing second in 2014, sixth in 2015 and 22nd last year.
Webb Simpson +2550
Another player to consider this week is Simpson who won this event in 2011. He tied for 8th in 2010, finished 11th in 2013, fifth in 2015 and sixth in 2015.
Bud Cauley +4050
My longshot this week is Cauley who has played well at Sedgefield in the past. He finished third in 2013 and he tied for 10th last year.
Course: Sedgefield Country Club (Ross) course is a par 70 that measures 7,127 yards. The course is not nearly as difficult as Quail Hollow was last week and it is much shorter, so distance is not nearly as much of an advantage as it was last week. The last three winners of this event, Si-woo Kim, Davis Love III and Camilo Villegas are definitely not long hitters.
TV Coverage: CBS and TNT
Notes:The top 125 players in the FedExCup standings after this week make it into the playoffs. Most of the players around the cut line are in the field this week. Every player from 112 to 125 in the standings is in the field and 40 of the 42 just outside the top 125 are in the field. Last year, two players moved inside the top 125 at this event. Also on the line this week is the No. 5 spot in the standings, as the top four of Hideki Matsuyama, Justin Thomas, Jordan Spieth and Dustin Johnson will be Nos. 1 through 4. Rickie Fowler is just ahead of Jon Rahm for No. 5. The one player in the field this week who could crack the top 5 is Kevin Kisner who is No. 7. He needs to win or finish second this week to move past Fowler.
