World No. 1 Jason Day +550 is back in action this week at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans. After a disappointing weekend at the RBC Classic in his last start, he is ready to turn the page and attack another win this week.
It won’t be easy for Day as he will be challenged by defending champion Justin Rose +750 and world No. 5 Rickie Fowler +1200. Both Rose and Fowler are fresh and ready to go.
Other notables scheduled to compete include Charley Hoffman +2000, Billy Horschel +1800, Daniel Berger +2500 and Smylie Kaufman +3500. Veteran David Toms makes his 23rd start in New Orleans.
Zurich Classic of New Orleans is the last chance for players to lock in a berth in THE PLAYERS Championship by moving into the top 10 in FedExCup points or top 50 of the world rankings. A spot also is open to the winner of next week’s Wells Fargo Championship, if not already in.
TPC Louisiana will host the event for the 11th time and the Pete Dye design is probably one of his worst. The course is annually one of the easiest on the PGA Tour, unlike most of Dye’s design. Players will need to make a bucket load of birdies in order to keep pace. The winning score could approach 20 under par.
TV Coverage: Thursday-Friday, 3-6 p.m. ET - Golf Channel, Saturday-Sunday, 1-2:30 p.m. - GC, 3-6 p.m. - CBS.

ODDS ANALYSIS
Billy Horschel +1800 won this event in 2013 and is in a groove right now. He finished T17 at the Masters and last week recorded his third top five in his last four starts. Like most professionals, Horschel is streaky and on one of those money-making streaks. So take advantage while you can and play Horschel in all formats.
Rickie Fowler +1200 is fresh off a vacation and fresh off missing the cut in his last start. Fowler’s game is off and until he shows me differently, I am betting against him. He likely will be in one of the power matchups paired up against Justin Rose or Jason Day and with his game the way it is, he will be no match. He may even miss the cut!
One player to fade this week is Jamie Lovemark +6000. He is on everybody’s list this week but I don’t see why. He’s 0-2 in New Orleans, never seen the weekend and his erratic play from week to week have me staying clear of the former UCLA standout.
