It's a little early to tell whether this crop of two-year old fillies will be able to live up to the depth that we've seen over the course of the last few years in this division. What we do know, though, is that there are some massive Grade 1 race winners that will enter the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies, and the one that comes out of this race victorious is almost certain to be the early-favorite to win the Kentucky Oaks in May.

Top Contenders
The field at the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies often features a lot of unproven commodities. That's surely the case with horses like Maya Malibu and Tell Your Mama who are among the longer shots on the board, but there are some big-time winners and runners-up from Grade 1 races.
Moonshine Memories surely has the best results of the 13 in this field. She's opened up as the morning line favorite to win the first race on Saturday. She's worked out relatively well in recent weeks at both Del Mar and Santa Anita, and she is 3-for-3 in her career, including wins here at Del Mar in the Del Mar Debutante and at the Grade 1 Chandelier Stakes at a mile and a sixteenth at Santa Anita.
The second choice is Separationofpowers at 4 to 1. If bettors big into her 104 Beyer Speed Rating at the Frizette Stakes, there's a chance they could push Separationofpowers to the favorite status. That said, her outside post is a big concern, especially against such a huge field.
Heavenly Love will start at the other end of the field from the mail, and she could be a factor from off the pace. She won her maiden against 11 others after a poor break and a three-wide turn. That race came on the grass. When she returned to the dirt and ran at a slightly longer distance in the Alcibiades Stakes, she won going away, blowing past a field that included another runner in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile, Princess Warrior.
Alluring Star and Wonder Gadot round out the single-digit choices in this race. Do keep in mind that Prime Power calls Caledonia Road the fourth-best horse in this field in spite of the fact that she's a longshot at 15 to 1.
Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Pick
The most interesting factor here with Moonshine Memories is that she has actually never been a favorite in any of her races. This is one of her longer prices, but that's due to the size of the field.
It's not a good sign that the oddsmakers have never thought enough of Moonshine Memories to line her as a favorite, even in her initial maiden race. That's generally a sign that regression is due to set in.
Instead, we're going to go with a horse she up down in the in the Chandelier Stakes, Alluring Star.
Alluring Star has the only real speed in this race, and on a track that has certainly favored a slew of starters over the course of the whole summer, she could give trainer Bob Baffert his first of a number of wins on Saturday at the Breeders' Cup.
