We’re all living in Conor McGregor’s world. Whoever he wants to fight next is the matchup that the UFC will make. It might be a while before he makes his choice, as he’s taking time off to welcome a child into the world and he’ll be negotiating with the UFC for an equity stake.
But that doesn’t mean we can’t have some fun and try and guess who Red Panty Night goes to. Let’s check in on the Future Odds for possible McGregor fights

Option 1: Lightweight Title Defense
Conor McGregor -115 vs. Khabib Nurmagomedov -115
Projection Analysis
Sorry Tony Ferguson, but Khabib Nurmagomedov seems to be the biggest threat to the lightweight title. There is always the possibility for a trilogy bout with Diaz, but Nurmy’s destruction of Michael Johnson is fresh in everybody’s minds, and the question of how the Irishman handles a wrestler of Khabib’s ilk is the question everyone wants answered.
McGregor’s standup is special, and Johnson made it obvious that Nurmagomedov is vulnerable on the feet. That’s why the odds are even. But in the sport of MMA, oddsmakers and gamblers tend to favor strong wrestling over anything else, which is why the Russian would likely end up the favorite here.
Option 2: Welterweight Title Challenge
Conor McGregor +125 vs. Tyron Woodley -155
Projection Analysis
It’s crazy how plausible this scenario is. A few years ago a three-division world champion was unthinkable, but McGregor’s immense ambition and intense staredown with Woodley backstage at UFC 205 has brought us to this point. But this might be a case of biting off more than he can chew.
Both men are the same height, but they are NOT the same size. McGregor had to eat his way up to 170 pounds, while Woodley cuts down to it. T-Wood is also a former NCAA D1 wrestler and can utilize what should be a 25-pound weight advantage to take McGregor down and keep him there. But McGregor’s reach advantage and generational striking talent keeps this close in terms of money lines.
Option 3: Featherweight Title Defense
Conor McGregor -205 vs. Jose Aldo +165
Projection Analysis
It’s unlikely this fight comes to fruition. First, Mcgregor has already has beaten Aldo - the current interim champion. Two, can he make the cut to 145 pounds anymore? Aldo hasn’t been doing himself any favors to drum up interest in this fight besides whining about it. The dollars aren’t there, so it doesn’t make much sense.
But when it comes to the actual fight, it’s obvious that McGregor’s punching power is special. It only took a single punch to KO Aldo cold. What saves the Brazilian from being a massive underdog is his speed and athleticism. But still, he’d be fighting a crazy uphill battle.
