Guess what Ronda Rousey’s opening money line is for her third fight with Miesha Tate

We just can’t get enough of UFC superstar Ronda Rousey – 12-0, 3 KOs, 9 SUBs – and that sentiment extends to oddsmakers. Early lines have already been set for her trilogy bout with Miesha Tate – 17-5, 3 KOs, 6 SUBs – and Rousey is coming in as a massive favorite.

Noted MMA oddsmaker Joey Odessa has opened the rematch with Ronda as an 11-1 favorite, with Best Fight Odds tabbing the champ at minus-1000.

CURRENT ODDS

Expect BookMaker’s online UFC odds to lie somewhere in the realm of Rousey at -1100, with Tate as a +850 underdog. As is the case with Rousey bouts, the total will likely be set at 1.5 rounds, with the under being the more expensive bet. And whenever Rousey fights, there’s always more prop bets than usual, so make sure to check back on fight night for all your available options.

NOT LOOKING GREAT FOR TATE

Rousey and Tate first squared off in Strikeforce in 2012, when Tate was the promotion’s bantamweight champion. Oddsmakers set Rousey as a 4-to-1 favorite in that bout, and Rowdy easily claimed a first-round armbar win.

Their rivalry spilled over into the UFC, where they coached opposing teams on Season 18 of The Ultimate Fighter leading up to their rematch at UFC 168. Rousey closed as a 7-to1 favorite on fight night, and Tate responded by becoming the only woman to get out of the first round with the superstar. However, she tapped out to another armbar in the third round.

“Ronda Rousey is still every bit of the 11-1 favorite she was in 2013,” noted oddsmaker Joey Odessa. “The may bet her down to 8-1 or even lower with the typical gambler ‘value’ argument, but there’s no value in a losing wager. Tate’s a live underdog that won’t win, as I like to call them. The third time won’t be any different.”

It’s not hard to come to that conclusion. While Tate has been impressive in her current four-fight winning streak, Ronda is in a different stratosphere in terms of physical tools. Tate is a skilled and gritty fighter, but Rousey is an athletic phenom that looks like she was sent from the future to show the world what female fighters could look like in 20 years.

Of course, the fight we all want to see is Rousey against Cris Santos, but it looks like we’re going to have to wait at least a year for it to come to fruition. For now, enjoy witnessing the champ destroy the second best fighter in the women’s bantamweight division.

HOW TO BET

When it comes to Rousey, your best avenue of making money lies in the total and prop bets. A few to keep your eye on: Fight distance, Fight outcome, How will the fight end, and who will win and when. It’s definitely harder to pick such specific bets, but they’ll pay out a lot better than betting Rousey to win outright.
