Demetrious Johnson (Mighty Mouse) is the top-ranked fighter in the latest MMA pound-for-pound rankings but he recently said the ranking means little to him. Mighty Mouse has been ranked as the top fighter for some time now but there is no money involved in the rankings and Johnson put it in perspective saying, "There was one point at time I was the No. 1 pound-for-pound fighter in the sport, Jon Jones hadn't fought in eight or nine months, he got reinstated and blew right past me and not one thing in my life changed. Not one single thing," Johnson said. Let’s take a look at the latest pound-for-pound rankings.

Pound-for Pound Rankings
1. Demetrious Johnson
Mighty Mouse says he doesn’t get too excited about the rankings and that he doesn’t care if Conor McGregor moves past him to No. 1. "I told people the other day, Conor can blow right past me. I'm not really concerned about the mythical pound-for-pound best fighter in the world, the No. 1 ranked fighter," Johnson said, "The only person that can probably take advantage of being the actual No. 1 pound-for-pound fighter in the world is Conor McGregor because he can attach it to his name and he can go out and land some big business deals because he can say he's the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world.”
Johnson said that the only way he will ever care about the rankings is if money is attached to them. "Having that No. 1 spot is basically just bragging rights and I'm not a bragger," Johnson said. "I just go out there and fight. If there was money involved and it was guaranteed if I had that No. 1 spot, yeah I would fight for it but there isn't. So if Conor ever wants to say anything about it, talk about me and say this and that, whatever, that's totally fine. I'm not going to waste the energy on it."
2. Conor McGregor
The current lightweight champion is 21-3 in his career but he won’t be in action until the middle of next year. He had to give up his featherweight title as the UFC wouldn’t let him hold two belts at the same time.
3. Dominick Cruz
The current bantamweight champion will get a good test at UFC 207 when he faces Cody Garbrandt. Cruz is listed as a -215 favorite at BookMaker.eu. Cruz is 22-1 in his career and has rarely been challenged.
4. Jon Jones
Jones has only lost once in his career but he fights so infrequently because of suspension that we sometimes forget about him. Jones is 22-1 in his career but because of suspension we won’t see him fighting in the UFC until late next year at the earliest.
5. Jose Aldo
You can make a case that Aldo should be ranked higher but he couldn’t beat McGregor. Aldo should be taking on Max Holloway sometime next year and that fight will tell us if Aldo deserves to move up in the rankings.
6. Daniel Cormier
It is hard to argue with the credentials of Cormier as the only loss in his career came to Jones. Cormier is 18-1 including a win over Anderson Silva. Cormier was supposed to fight Anthony Johnson at UFC 206 but had to pull out due to injury.
7. TJ Dillashaw
It may not be long before Dillashaw moves into the top five as he should be getting a future title shot against Cruz. Dillashaw is 13-3 in his career. He will be facing John Lineker at UFC 207.
8. Stipe Miocic
The heavyweight champ is 16-2 in his career including a win over Alistair Overeem last time out.
9. Tyrone Woodley
He is coming off a draw against Stephen Thompson at UFC 206 but that draw allowed him to keep his welterweight title.
10. Cain Velasquez
He is 14-2 in his career but he always seems to get hurt. He did look good beating Travis Browne at UFC 200.
