Main Event
Heavyweight Championship
Blagoy Ivanov -125
Shawn Jordan +106
Over/under 1.5 rounds, over -115, under -105
Fight Breakdown
It’s tough to tell how good Ivanov is, since he hasn’t really faced top-notch heavyweights. We do know that he’s relatively well-rounded, with five KOs and six submissions in 14 career victories. Still, the fact that Shawn Jordan is one of the most well-known opponents he’s faced says a lot.
Jordan is far from a world-ranked fighter, but he’s a UFC alum whose beaten the likes of Derrick Lewis, Jared Cannonier and Pat Barry. A true headhunter, “The Savage” owns 15 KOs in 19 career victories, and he’ll look to crack Ivanov’s chin. On paper, Jordan is just too one-dimensional to beat a well-rounded guy like Ivanov.
MMA odds pick: Ivanov to win at -125
Co-Main Event
Featherweight Championship
Lance Palmer -135
Andre Harrison +115
Over/under 4.5 rounds, over -150, under +130
Fight Breakdown
Harrison is an intriguing talent, with a 15-0 record built in smaller promotions like Ring of Combat and Titan FC. Still, his penchant for fighting to decision makes him a tough sell to fans. But if that undefeated record keeps growing, Harrison could become one of WSOF’s first homegrown stars.
He’ll put his undefeated record on the line against Lance Palmer, who is 4-2 under the WSOF banner. Palmer is a solid grappler with six submissions in 11 career victories, and is coming off a win over Alexandre Almeida in July 2016. However, the physical talent advantage belongs to Harrison here.
MMA odds pick: Harrison to win at +115
Bantamweight Championship
Donavon Frelow +600
Bekbulat Magomedov -1200
Over/under 3.5 rounds, over -120, under +120
Fight Breakdown
Magomedov boasts good knockout power along with an impressive 17-1 record. However, he’s just 1-1 inside WSOF, indicating he has work to do if he wants to be successful against higher caliber North American competition.
Frelow fights just one month after beating Zeke Enrique at Gladiator Challenge via split decision. He steps in on just a few weeks notice to replace Timur Valiev, and the 6-1 Frelow will have a tough night without a full training camp against a much more experience fighter.
MMA odds pick: Magomedov to win at -1200
