Stipe Miocic knocked out Alistair Overeem at UFC 203 to retain the UFC heavyweight title and stay at the top of the MMA power rankings in the division. Jon Jones is still in the top spot in the light heavyweight rankings even though Daniel Cormier is the current champion while Michael Bisping leads the way in the middleweight rankings. Bisping will take on Dan Henderson at UFC 204 on October 8th. Let’s look at the latest MMA power rankings for each of the men’s and women’s divisions.
Heavyweight Rankings
1. Stipe Miocic (16-2) – UFC (Champion)
2. Fabricio Werdum (21-6-1) – UFC
3. Cain Velasquez (14-2) – UFC
4. Alistair Overeem (41-15) – UFC
5. Junior dos Santos (18-4) – UFC
6. Ben Rothwell (36-10) – UFC
7. Travis Browne (18-5-1) – UFC
8. Josh Barnett (35-8) – UFC
9. Derrick Lewis (16-4) – UFC
10. Andrei Arlovski (25-13) – UFC
Miocic won the title as he destroyed Werdum at UFC 198 and he defended the title at UFC 203 as he knocked out Alistair Overeem in the first round. Werdum may get another chance at Miocic or it could be Miocic taking on Velasquez.
Light Heavyweight Rankings
1. Jon Jones (22-1) – UFC
2. Daniel Cormier (18-1) – UFC (Champion)
3. Anthony Johnson (22-5) – UFC
4. Alexander Gustafsson (17-4) – UFC
5. Ryan Bader (21-5) – UFC
6. Phil Davis (16-3) – Bellator
7. Glover Teixeira (25-5) – UFC
8. Ovince Saint Preux (19-8) – UFC
9. Liam McGeary (11-0) – Bellator (Champion)
10. Rashad Evans (19-5-1) – UFC
This division should be all about Jones but he is suspended so the current champion is Cormier. If Jones doesn’t get reinstated soon then it could be Johnson getting a title shot against Cormier.
Middleweight Rankings
1. Michael Bisping (29-7) –UFC (Champion)
2. Luke Rockhold (15-3) – UFC
3. Chris Weidman (13-1) – UFC
4. Jacare Souza (23-4) – UFC

8. Gegard Mousasi (39-6-2) – UFC
9. Lyoto Machida (22-7) – UFC
10. David Branch (18-3) – WSOF (Champion)
Bisping will take on Dan Henderson at UFC 204 on October 8th in the UK. Bisping is listed at -215 in UFC odds at BookMaker.eu with the rounds total at 2.5 under.
Rockhold and Jacare are expected to meet when the UFC goes to Australia for UFC Fight Night 101 in November.
Welterweight Rankings
1. Tyron Woodley (16-3) – UFC (Champion)
2. Stephen Thompson (13-1) – UFC

4. Rory MacDonald (18-4) – Bellator
5. Demian Maia (24-6) – UFC
6. Ben Askren (15-0) – ONE FC (Champion)
7. Andrey Koreshkov (19-1) – Bellator (Champion)
8. Dong Hyun Kim (21-3-1) – UFC
9. Johny Hendricks (17-5) – UFC
10. Donald Cerrone (31-7) – UFC
Woodley took out Lawler at UFC 201 and he is now atop the welterweight rankings. Thompson has moved up to second after destroying Hendricks in the first round.
Lightweight Rankings
1. Eddie Alvarez (28-4) – UFC (Champion)
2. Khabib Nurmagomedov (23-0) – UFC

7. Justin Gaethje (16-0) – WSOF (Champion)
8. Will Brooks (18-1) – UFC
9. Edson Barboza (18-4) – UFC
10. Benson Henderson (24-6) – Bellator
Alvarez proved he belongs at the top of these rankings as he beat former champion Rafael dos Anjos. It should be Alvarez taking on Nurmagomedov or Ferguson next.
Featherweight Rankings
1. Conor McGregor (20-3) – UFC (Champion)
2. Jose Aldo (26-2) – UFC (Interim Champion)
3. Frankie Edgar (20-5-1) – UFC

8. Charles Oliveira (21-6) – UFC
9. Daniel Straus (24-6) – Bellator (Champion)
10. Patricio Freire (25-4) – Bellator
McGregor is the top ranked fighter in this division although Aldo is the current interim champion. The question is whether or not McGregor defends his title at 145 pounds or stays at 155.
Bantamweight Rankings
1. Dominick Cruz (22-1) – UFC (Champion)
2. T.J. Dillashaw (13-3) – UFC
3. Raphael Assuncao (23-5) – UFC

9. Bryan Caraway (21-7) – UFC
10. Jimmie Rivera (20-1) – UFC
This division has Cruz and not much else as Cruz beat Urijah Faber at UFC 199 to defend the title. Dillashaw should be in line for a title shot but it might be Garbrandt who jumps over him to match up against Cruz.
Flyweight Rankings
1. Demetrious Johnson (24-2-1) – UFC (Champion)
2. Joseph Benavidez (24-4) – UFC
3. Henry Cejudo (10-1) – UFC

8. John Moraga (16-5) – UFC
9. Wilson Reis (21-6) – UFC
10. Dustin Ortiz (15-5) – UFC
This division is even more top heavy than bantamweight as it is all Mighty Mouse. The division is so weak that the winner of The Ultimate Fighter is expected to get the next title shot against Johnson.
Women’s Bantamweight Rankings
1. Amanda Nunes (13-4) – UFC (Champion)
2. Ronda Rousey (12-1) – UFC
3. Miesha Tate (18-6) – UFC
4. Valentina Shevchenko (13-2) – UFC

8. Alexis Davis (17-6) – UFC
9. Tonya Evinger (18-5) – Invicta (Champion)
10. Sara McMann (9-3) – UFC
Nunes is at the top of the rankings for now as she destroyed Tate last time out. Rousey still isn’t ready to fight so it might be Pena getting a title shot against Nunes.
Women’s Strawweight Rankings
1. Joanna Jedrzejczyk (12-0) – UFC (Champion)
2. Claudia Gadelha (13-2) – UFC
3. Karolina Kowalkiewicz (10-0) – UFC
4. Jessica Aguilar (19-5) – UFC
5. Carla Esparza (11-3) – UFC
6. Rose Namajunas (5-3) – UFC
7. Jessica Andrade (15-5) – UFC
8. Tecia Torres (7-1) – UFC
9. Alexa Grasso (8-0) – UFC
10. Angela Hill (5-2) – Invicta (Champion)
Jedrzejczyk has destroyed everyone in her path including Gadelha, Esparza and Penne. It could be Kowalkiewicz getting the next shot at the champ.
