Conor McGregor said that he is weighing multiple options for his return including fighting much earlier than Dana White originally predicted. McGregor said he still considered himself a two-weight world champion but that he doesn’t know what is going to happen next year. A multitude of options are on the table for McGregor with the most likely scenario having him defend his lightweight title but other possibilities including boxing and wrestling are still on the table.

McGregor Says He Still has Two Belts
McGregor recently said that he still considers himself a two-weight world champion. “All I know is they’re trying to type onto keyboard and say, ‘We’re taking this belt, we’re taking that belt, we’re doing this, we’re doing that,’ ” said McGregor. “You ain’t doing nothing without contacting me first.”
The UFC made the bout between Max Holloway and Anthony Pettis the main event for UFC 206 with Holloway winning and they made Jose Aldo the full champion in the featherweight division. McGregor said that he is still the champion despite what the UFC did.
“I’m still the two-weight world champion,” McGregor said. “Make no mistake about that. They can say what they want, they can try and get phony belts and hand them out to people I’ve already destroyed. I mean, the current champion is a guy I KO’d in 13 seconds. The current interim champion is a guy I destroyed as well. Officially, I don’t care what nobody says. I am the two-weight world champion and that is that.”
Layoff for McGregor Might be Short
McGregor said after his win at UFC 205 that he was taking some time off as his girlfriend is expecting their first child. Dana White said that the break would be about 10 months but that time frame has been disputed by McGregor. “As far as a break, I don’t know,” McGregor said. “I know Dana has been on record, being like, ’10 months — he’s taking 10 months off.’ Where did you [get] 10 months?”
McGregor said he expects to talk to the new owners of the UFC, WME-IMG sometime soon. “I’m weighing up my options,” McGregor said, “But again, I expect that conversation. I expect them to fly that jet to me. Ari, Patrick, the new owners from WME-IMG, the guys that bought the UFC for $4 billion, I want to speak to them. I want to see what their plan is. Because right now I don’t know what nobody’s plan is.”
If McGregor stays in the UFC as expected then he could be matched up against top contender Khabib Nurmagomedov in the lightweight division or he could move up to welterweight and take on Tyron Woodley. There is also the chance he could try and get his featherweight title back going up against the winner of Aldo and Holloway.
McGregor Won’t Rule out Boxing or Wrestling
McGregor also said that he has a real interest in boxing and that he won’t discount the possibility of wrestling. “I can go now and conquer the boxing scene, that's a very serious thought," said McGregor, "It's a very serious conversation that is happening, so we will see. I have got those wrestling guys trying to contact me as well. I have got Hollywood trying to contact me as well. I have got so many options."
McGregor said that a fight against Floyd Mayweather is not out of the question but that it won’t be anytime soon. "Of course the Floyd fight is the one we all want to see. These things take time."
McGregor on Game of Thrones
McGregor will also be making an appearance on the HBO series Game of Thrones sometime next year. He will reportedly be playing the role of a pirate with Euron Greyjoy's crew. "I knew that a few months ago that they were interested in putting him in the show. I'm glad he did it. It'll be great. The show is huge--it's awesome. I'm excited for him," said White.
