2016-UFC-Pound for Pound Rankings and Upcoming Fights-Odds

Demetrious Johnson continues to hold down the top spot in the pound for pound rankings. Mighty Mouse is just in front of Jon Jones who is facing a possible suspension for testing positive for banned substances before UFC 200. Johnson is happy to be ranked in the top spot but he also has great respect for Jones saying, "I've always believed I was the No. 1 guy in this sport," Johnson said to FOX Sports. "The guy at the gym doing amateur fights believes he's the pound-for-pound best fighter in the sport. It's the public that can kind of give you that title for me.”

"This isn't the first time I've had this title. I've had this title before, when Jon Jones was inactive and then he's active and he blows past me into the spot. I've been busy putting in work and I have nothing against Jon Jones. I love the guy. He's an amazing athlete. It went away for me so when that happened, I was fine with it."

Pound for Pound Rankings

1. Demetrious Johnson (24-2-1)

The UFC Flyweight champion didn’t face Wilson Reis at UFC 201 because of injury but Johnson is set to face the winner of “The Ultimate Fighter 24” in December. Johnson is looking to break the all-time record for title defenses set by Anderson Silva. Johnson will need three more title defenses to break that record of 10. "I just focus on myself. Put on great performances like I do.” Johnson said, “Stay a clean fighter, don't take any supplements or anything and I'll let the public throw that around. In my heart, I know where I'm at and that's all that matters to me."

2. Jon Jones (22-1)

Jones has been in court recently as he is appealing his positive results for banned substances before UFC 200. Jones had an arbitration hearing recently and the results from that hearing have yet to come back. It is expected that a decision will be reached before the Nevada Athletic Commission holds a disciplinary hearing on the matter on November 10th.

3. Daniel Cormier (18-1)

Cormier has lost just once in his career and that came to Jon Jones and there is no shame in losing to Jones. Cormier beat Anderson Silva last time out and now he gets a big fight against Anthony Johnson at UFC 206.

4. Dominick Cruz (22-1)

The UFC Bantamweight champion will get one of his toughest tests to date as he takes on Cody Garbrandt at UFC 207.

Cruz is listed as a -210 favorite vs. Garbrandt at BookMaker.eu

5. Conor McGregor (20-3)

McGregor won over Nate Diaz at Welterweight and now he is going to try and get another title at Lightweight as he takes on Eddie Alvarez at UFC 205.

6. Stipe Miocic (16-2)

Miocic is the current heavyweight champion as he won at UFC 203. He is awaiting his next challenger.

7. Jose Aldo (26-2)

Aldo is kind of in limbo right now as he is the interim UFC Champion after a win over Frankie Edgar.

8. Eddie Alvarez (28-4)

Alvarez looked great in beating Rafael dos Anjos for the Lightweight title but now he has to face an even more dangerous opponent as he takes on Conor McGregor at UFC 205.

9. Tyron Woodley (16-3)

Woodley defeated Robbie Lawler to win the Welterweight title. He will defend that title against Stephen Thompson at UFC 205.

10. Anthony Johnson (22-5)

Johnson will be looking to win the Lightweight title as he takes on Daniel Cormier at UFC 206.

11. Rafael dos Anjos (25-8)

The winning streak for dos Anjos is over after the loss to Alvarez. He will try and get back on track with a win over Tony Ferguson at UFC Fight Night 98.

12. Michael Bisping (30-7)

Bisping was able to win against Dan Henderson at UFC 204 to retain the Middleweight title. It is unclear when Bisping will fight next.

13. Luke Rockhold (15-3)

Rockhold is coming off a loss to Bisping and it is unclear when he will fight next as his bout against Ronaldo Souza was cancelled as Rockhold pulled out due to injury.

14. Chris Weidman (13-1)

Weidman suffered a disappointing loss to Rockhold which dropped him in the rankings but he has a chance to bounce back as he takes on Yoel Romero at UFC 205.

15. Fabricio Werdum (21-6-1)

Werdum would like to get a rematch against Miocic but at least Werdum got a good win over Travis Browne at UFC 203.
